Porting Chipzel

What should I ask Chipzel for if I wanted to attempt porting her first album to SID:

https://chipzel.co.uk/album/disconnected

I know nothing about either GBS or SID production, what tools could I use to translate channels.

She is a fan of stereo effects but I want the ports to play on single SID hardware, I know it makes no sense but the only way to learn is to try.

get a tracker like sidwizard (c64) or goattracker (pc) and learn to use them.

GoatTracker v2.75
SID-Wizard v1.7

Ok, thx.

So there is no way to transpose GBS -> SID with other tools than ears?

only method i can think of is converting the GBS data to MIDI and then importing those tracks into either editor. SID-Wizard has a tool that will allow you to convert that MIDI data into its own format for use with SID.

Even if it is possible, one way or another, I don't think that converting from GBS to SID without any real hands-on musical engagement is a particularly good idea to be honest. They're very, very different systems, SID being markedly more sophisticated in spite of having one channel less on the face of it.

Hearing the composer getting into composing for SID herself would be cool, though. The more the merrier in this game, I say. :)

I made a cover of Chipzels Courtesy for Micro Hexagon [16kb cartridge], audio clip here.

In my case it was done with Goattracker 2 and using my ears. Listening to the original tune in half or even less of the normal speed helps to pick up details that are hard to hear otherwise.
