Pitchbend in SID-Wizard!?
I have almost zero musical knowledge and have never even used any kind of tracker software before today, so bear with me.
I'm experimenting with a particular effect and my weapon of choice is SID-Wizard but I can't get what I want. As I'm more familiar with the very old-school Electrosound which I did play around with back in the day, I resorted to opening that up and got what I want. But how can I reproduce it in SID-Wizard?
What I'm after is basically an instrument that holds descending note. I can produce this in Electrosound with the Pitchbend parameters, see screenshot here..

The closest I could get in SID-Wizard was using a slow vibrato, but that of course repeats down & up (I altered the Type) and isn't what I want. Is there anything else I could do with an instrument definition? I played around with pulse width without success. Is the only way to create a pattern of a descending scale? |

Never used the Sid Wizard. Quick look in the manual.
Effect-column BIG effects:
$01 Pitch-slide Up
$02 Pitch Slide Down |

I have used SID Wizard a lot for a few years, so I know probably almost half of it!
I don't think you can do this in the instrument definition (except with the vibrato, as you found), you have to put the effect in the track data (as CreaMD said). You just need to put one slide down and it will keep going down after that, unlike some other trackers. BUT if you have a pitch setting in the "arp-table" then that will, mildly infuriatingly, cancel the pitch bend. |

Thanks guys, I'll check that out, it sounds like what I'm after. It's a big manual and I'd only been looking on instrument editing for this |
