JCH and Packer

I have made my first tune with JCH 20.g4 and I would like to pack it.

But problems occured after packing the tune. The tune consists of a lot of Super Menu Commands in 8C0E and similar sectors. It was a hell of work to do an Echo effect with JCH (one channel) and to do a fade-in in the same time.

I used NP-Pack 2.5 and 5.3, but both didn't work.

I have already sent a d64 and my a request to Drax and Laxity, but there was no reply yet. I want to sort it out as soon as possible as I want to give this tune to Cactus for his mag Attitude, which is gonna be released soon.

Anyone of you could pass me an email? This way I can send you the d64 and you can have a look into the tune with JCH and tell me where the problem lies.

Thanks a lot in advance.

I've managed to pack some tunes before that were difficult. Usually the problem is junk bytes in your unpacked data or illegal length of sequences. Generally, don't do longer sequences than $40 and it works fine.

Send the tune to me and I'll have a look.

8xxx-commands usually fuck up in the packers here as well. i usually end up doing an own entry in the instrument table instead of using the SR-part of the super*-table.

but how in the world did you succeed in doing a fade in using the supercommands, when they only work for sustain and release?

Fixed the tune for you.. But there's an ADSR sync bug on top of packing problem with 20.g4, so I migrated the tune to 21.b4.. But all the hi-frequency stuff is crapped though, as 21.b4 doesn't support that thing.. I tried to do some abs-notes instead, but I didn't listen that carefully to the 20.g4 version as I'm off to bed, so all the drums might sound different... it's late .. or at least it feels like it! Go get the 21.b4 beta zip, it has a readme file that contains info on NP21.b4 and gives some hints as to what you should do differently compare to 20.g4..

G'night!

Oh, that packing bug doesn't occur when you use NP-Pack 5.4beta found in the same NP21.b4 zip.

Finally Drax helped me out.

I used NP 5.4 Packer to pack the tune properly, and it worked out!

Thanks for your help ppl anyway.

I just had to do it fastly as the attitude deadline is near.
