What's your favorite composerprogram?
I'd like to know...
and please elaborate in an argumentative way,
like 'i like xyz the best because it's best for beats", or "i like qrs the best because it's glissandi are the greatest for replicateing classicaltv themes and because speed is controllable'
so again: please no childish stuff like 'mine is the best', please come with facts and arguments.
If you use different apps, for different purposes, please elaborate also!
ok. thanks a lot!

My favourite composer has to be Demo Music Creator V5, because of the cool sounds you can make. I specially love it when you can control the filters in different ways. Also fading in and fading out sounds in your music.
It is a very cool music composer. Better than Future Composer - And much easier to handle :) |

@stuntgitarist:
It's also a matter of what kind of music-style you want to do on the C64, either it is jazzy&funky, techno-/trancish, poppy etc. or even all of it.
For a start into Techno/Trance direction I recommend DMC 4. For some more professional enviroment that goes into this direction I'd go for DMC 5 or even, if you want to have it even more advantageous, the newest Goattracker version, which is PC based.
For all other cases I recommend JCH. Sure there are also alternatives like SDI etc.

i always liked the x-ample editor on c64.... you can export the tune as sourcecode and tweak it later, kinda fun =) |

I like NinjaTracker, because of the incredible ease of use and very low rastertime usage. |

I like the JCH-editor. It has some limitations but it's fun to code a bit in order to get around them. With the docs from Frantic and others it is now very easy to learn how to use this system and for basic needs it is outstanding.
For anything besides basic needs I would recommend Turbo Assembler. |

I have mostly used Future Composer version 2 (an oldie composer) and hard to make new stuff, that you hear in newer. |

I saw this kind of topic posted more than once here, but don't let that put us off.
I have been using DMC most of the time. It is one funky music editor. I used to use DMC V4 all the time, because of the nice looking user interface, but I now use DMC V5.0 and other DMC music editors. It is an amazing music editor, but the disadvantage is that you have to load the music packer separately. :)
One DMC I have been using most of the time for the DMC Album #8 was this one below :)
DMC V5.1+ Package |
