Fairlight.. The Intro Music
Ok.. From the TOPIC, EVERYONE should know the music i'm referring to. That classic Fairlight intro music?
I need to know where I can download an MP3 version of the music. ALSO, it would be helpful to know who composed it.
I need the music because my best friend is getting married and this music happens to be his favorite from the c64 scene. I'm going to burn the music to disk and hopefully have enough time for "the band" to learn it.
Any and all help is appreciated.. Thanks in advance!!

Druid II was what I was supposed to write, and what I thought I had written... something must have disturbed me. |

To get an mp3 of the tune; save it as a WAV-file from Sidplay and convert it to mp3.
We need a faq! :)

Quote: No way. The music is from "Druid II - Enlightenment" and is composed by David Mark Hanlon. The music for Druid is actually better, probably because I haven't heard it to death.
Yes! This is the tune I was seeking. A shame that i've had it in my SID collection and didn't even know it..
Thanks TwoFlower! |

The tune has been "remixed" in MOD format as well, with pretty decent results. I used to have it... now where did I put it...?

Well, there's ftp://ftp.modland.com/pub/modules/Protracker/Vizz/druid%20ii%20..
And an XM: ftp://ftp.modland.com/pub/modules/Fasttracker%202/No-XS/enlight..
You'll also find an mp3 version of that one on http://remix.kwed.org along with 17 other versions.. be sure to check out Sonic Wandrer's and Red Devils versions.

I've also found these:
http://remix.kwed.org/index.php?search=druid
Most are remixes, which really isn't what I was looking for. Turns out I had the original song in my HVSC directory, which is buried on my external, within other directories.
I did have problems converting the song to .wav using sidplayer. It only saved 30 seconds of the song. So I downloaded SID2WAV and checked it out. Too bad it didn't come with instructions.
So I played with it and FINALLY was able to convert it to .wav, but missed the last few seconds of the song. I think I got a little over a minute, which is good enough for the musicians to learn what they can..
I really have to thank you guys for helping so quickly. This will be a fun wedding indeed :) |

In Sidplay you go to Settings -> Wav & select Frequency, Resolution, Channels & time in seconds to record. Default is 30 seconds. |

Note that the FLT intro tune is not identical to the Druid II tune. The tune in the intro is a bad rip -- possibly earning the label "remix" in retrospect :). Later on, the intro was completely rewritten using a bespoke music driver integrated in the IRQ code, but still playing the Fairlight ("broken") version of the tune.
