Nata I know Soundemon, just missed that article. I've heard his tunes before, just not on real machine, I'll check if it's useful. Anyway if anyone really needs that it's just about tweaking of current players according to needs.. but the resulting sounds must be really worth it. |

From my limited knowledge it's by far not a trivial matter of just tweaking an existing player. To get these new sounds you need to bang the SID several times a frame with very precise timings. I originally wanted to have such a tune with "new waveforms" for our 10 Years collection, but skipped it because we couldn't meet the requirements, technically. |

I think GRG also did like 1 voice of sid-emulation in one of his sid-tunes.. just can't remember which tune it is, but as far as I remember the result was quite ok. |

I of course mean't tweaking of player that already plays at higher speed than 1.. if I had 1time player I would have to add some more calls for that banging, I don't thnink that's hard to code it into dmc5.0 editor actually ;-) At least not for me. |

It's not really a new waveform after all, now is it. At least one cannot compare it to the other waveforms, since it's not a thing that can be done by just setting a few bits to the waveform selection variable as usually done.
If timing is critical, would some kind of NMI interrupt doing the waveform trick not be the way to go, since the frequency of the "oscilator reset" can be changed dynamically?.. Maybe that can lead to something nice. Or maybe it'll sound like crap - who knows.. Just a thought! |

After all, I wouldn't have expected so retarded humor from you Nata. But it seems I have tragically overestimated your intelectual potential. ;-) |
