Wrong groups showing in credits
Hi there,
my profile correctly shows my active groups (DMAgic, Protovision), but in my latest release it also lists High Tech in the credits, although I have left high tech a long time ago (and the group also does not exist anymore):
1k Demo
How to remove it? |

By setting a date for when you left High Tech.
High-Tech (7-1995 -> )
Any release credited to you after 1995 will have High Tech listed as a group, update your profile with correct information for all your groups and it will sort itself. |

I agree, but on the otherhand I didn't add myself to this "fine" online database, others did, and mistakes were made.
I don't like to be called "Ventura" in every day life, nor do I wish to explain what it's all about,
the only answer I can give "maybe you can explain it to me, because I can't".
CSDb is a backpetting communtity, people like to be spoonfed, instead of thinking things through for themselves.
I quit the c64 scene in '92, but had ready made routines which were used by others, and I'm happy to help them getting their demo's/games finished. If you're under the assumption that this site is about providing accurate info, you're wrong. |

Elvin,
Some of us do believe it's about accurate information and give a shit about "back petting". If you see an inaccuracy, feel free to make the necessary adjustments to the entry.

No personal information is available from the scener pages unless you have an account and are logged in. |

I guess CSDb only excludes a group from the "left" date of the respective member, not from the "Dissolved in" date from the group entry? If so, including this data might be a good improvement, serving for all members of dead groups who are involved in releases from sometime afterwards - in case of High Tech, any credit to their ex-members after 1996 (i.e. 1997 till today). |

Not quite sorting itself, see:
BCC #5 Party Scroll
I left Berlin C64 Club, my profile has join and leaving dates, the release entry has a release date (which is long after I left), and still I'm listed as MacGyver of Berlin C64 Club. |

DOH!
Looks like some old code wasn't updated when I later added some new code, so if one had been a member once, it would be displayed anyway in special cases.
Now it shows the groups the scener was a member of at the releasedate only.
If no dates at all are given for a membership of a group, it checks the current memberstatus, and if that says the scener is a member (active or inactive) now, the group will be displayed also.
As no join-date is given I assume they have been a member since forever, and still is, and therefor also was a member at the releasedate. :) |

Great improvement, Perff!
An additional one would be for the case no joining/leaving dates are provided, to check founded and dissolved dates of the respective group(s) and display as exact as possible.
E.g. Protovision was founded in 1996, so no releases from 1995 and back I'm credited in should show Protovision as group. |
