Fake group

Can we reopen the discussion on new group type - 'Fake Group'?

I think as fake demos are big part of scene culture, it is very needed. And since we already have the appropriate demo type, why not?

It's rather obvious most of the time that a group is fake. If not the name itself is a bit odd, then the group members have rather unusual handles.
And then there's the trivia, where you can add useful information.

The thing is, adding a new category makes it necessary to go through all the groups and determine if they're fake or not.
Also, we will run into borderline cases without a doubt.

On top of it all: there are so many issues, big and little, that need attention in some way, that adding a new group category will be way down at the far end of the to-do list anyway...

Less is more :-)

I dont think 'fake group' is needed at all.
After all they are not 'fake', just maybe not serious :)
But many fake groups had/have quite some releases. Some with notable effort :)

To prove your point (and for me to have some more childish fun), please tell me without looking into the entry page, which of the following groups is/are fake?

Jamniorki
Buraki
Kluski
Kreciki

Hmmmmm?... ;)

i am strongly against such a category, mostly because i dont see the point. fake groups are groups like any other group. and as soon as you look at their releases, you can judge yourself wether you like it or not. it beeing "fake" is completely irrelevant, IMHO.

and enthusi brings up an important point. a group isnt "fake" because it releases crap. a lot of groups that take themselves very serious do and did the very same =D

indeed. and "fullscreen graphician" is also about as useless as having "intro" and "crack intro".

who defines what is a fake group anyway, and how? enthusis point still stands :)

this: Afrika is a "fake group" and this: Hammarkullen a "fake demo". now please take these examples and explain how they are not like any other group / demo, and why.

OK. I am a reasonable person and you convinced me ;)

Btw. I love quality fake demos, like the ones from Sunga or Kluski

Just 'graphician' for painters is definately enough. I usually ignore 'logo' and 'fullscreen'
