Happy birthday C64 (?) - 25 years and still active !

I think in these days is the 25th birthday of the Commodore 64.
The C64 was released in January 1982 at CES Las Vegas. Does anyone know the exact date ?

It was presented for the first time to the audience but sell started in September 1982 in USA and in europe in the beginning of 1983... So 99% of the guys not from the USA talking about getting their C64 earlier than 1983 don't say the truth... Or they got a NTSC version and needed a NTSC television too...

Oh, how I'd like to know the exact date of the presentation of the c64. If it turns out to be my birthday, it would really make my day! At least, the commie is a capricorn, that explains a lot ;)

After watching Rob Hubbard's "Golden days of computer game music" seminar video at assembly 2002, he said the year he got his c64 was 1982. Yet again, he said it like this on the video: "in 1980....2....or..wha'eva that was!..." so you could be right that europeans got a c64 the year after ;)

Yay for the C64! 25 years and still going strong.
I wonder how many 1982 models are still alive and working?

my original equipment from 1984 is still running fine... :)

except my speeddos-eprom in the 64 is a bit flawed, a pin is broken where I just use a wire now to get contact again. ;)
I guess I'll have to burn a new one someday, as I still have my old eprom-burner + some eproms laying around. A pity my "lamp" broke down which I used to clear eproms and also I don't have any burner-software anymore (but I think this isn't a big problem)...
