New C64 database with over 4300+ games
Happy tidings from JCH.
1. Go to GameDeed.com.
2. Click the small C64 icon in the right side.
This database has over 4300 games for C64, embedded Wikipedia articles, local screenshots, and Zzap!64 ratings/links. It also serves as a checklist for what you've played and completed.

Yes, it's real. It's just a genuine video games fan site.
You have my word. =) |

Can you give more information?
What is the source for the files?
What is the criteria for inclusion?
Are there multiple versions?
Are they originals only? |

Basically It's a checklist/mini-database web site with rows for video games, where you can login and add "deeds" to indicate what you've played and completed. This works for a ton of video game platforms, not just C64.
There are no files added here, it's just a web site for reference that I thought you guys would be interested in as oldskool C64 fans.
Think Lemon 64, MobyGames, Howlongtobeat.com, Backloggery, etc. |

just one of the many harvesting websites on the webz. this one though does harvesting in all directions: it harvests its served content from sites like wikipedia and mobygames, and it harvests the information from its visitors to sell to another party.
This piece of shit has nothing to do with (preservation) databases at all. |

Wow. I must say I expected a better reception here. I had a lot of praises on both Facebook and relevant forums on Reddit. What the hell is the matter with you people? Are you all this dense around here?
Guess I'll have to log out for the last time.
Oh, and Fierman? Fuck you. |

Huh I didn't know it was just a database. Thanks for clarification, it was late and couldn't be bothered to look around much.
Way to go Fierman, you have unlocked the achievement "Fungus" for being a complete ass.

Sorry to be an ass here, but I share fierman's opinion on that "database". It seems to be poached from other sources, such as mobygames.com (which is actually community driven). Just compare e.g. the screenshots of Delta. (at least it says "courtesy of Mobygames").
And Jens should know better and not take things personally. This is really not the place to share "retro gaming" links. :) |
