15 years oxyron party
now it became true ;-) oxyron is going to organize a party for the first time in 15 years.
it will be in flensburg/ northern germany - very close to the danish border from february 23rd to febrary 25th (2007 ofcourse)
we have found a location with space for more than 200 ppl plus hardware.
but to be honest we expect around 100 to come at the moment (hopefully)
if more of you all are interested in coming - well thats even better ;-)
since we would like to know whos coming plz sign up for the party under:

get all the other infos there...
invitations on c64 and pc are going to be released very soon (probably on tuesday 16th january) eventually followed by an amiga invitation (the amiga-code is nearly finished but we dont have musix for it)

I was considering of going there, but then I saw this...:
"ppl schould be 18 years or older if they want to visit our party - since we dont want to get in trouble with angry parents or the law if kids start drinking alcohol or watching porn or whatever. plz respect this rule because theres no way for younger ppl to enter the party-hall (we will check the identification if necessary.)"...
what kind of rule is that anyway??.
oh well... I'm gonna grab a beer and watch Bloemetjes&Bytjes or something...o.O;

well thats because of the german law :-( if ppl with age of under 18 watch porn for example we (the organizers) could get in serious trouble :-(
and we cant control everything what ppl are watching or doing. or if ppl under 18 years drink the hard stuff (alcohol like vodka) we can get intro trouble too. except for the case you bring your parents along lol.
we feel really sorry about this rule - its not because we dont like ppl younger than 18 :)

crap... the point is just that we few organizers dont want to spend our time on controling what ppl are consuming on their own equipment. the law "says" that we are responsible for anything that happens on our party.
the german law says that it is not allowed to drink alcohol like vodka under 18 years - the law says its not allowed to play some special kind of ego-shooters under 18 years - the law says its not allowed to watch porn under 18...
you understand? thats something we dont want to worry about. its not us who set up those statutes
again... this is a rule we didnt make to discriminate ppl under 18 years. its a rule to make sure we dont get into trouble.
like the rule or dont like it... theres nothing more to add about this point.
sry for lame english. i hope all of you got the point.

Actually I think porn will be shown knowing that StreetTuff will attend the party. However I'm not sure the government will mind 4x4 dithered FLI porm streamed from an 25 year old 8 bit machine equiped 21st century streaming technology. :D
Seriously, the C64 scene is small as it is, you bending a few rules to let the active sceners in is a must from your side Yazoo. Don't make the scene smaller than it is. 1. yes we will think it over. i actually didnt imagine how many ppl would worry about this rule anyways since most sceners will have an age of 25 or 30 plus i think.
2. i cant decide on my own if its 16+ right now. i will talk to the other organizers first - because everyone agreed to that 18 years rule when we had our organizer-meeting (including graham, axis and some others you ppl may know)
so i will ask them and eventually change that rule.
3. its not so sure that the police or anyone from the public authoritys wont have a look what happens - because the party will be in an official building (school) - so the public authoritys automatically know about the event.
i dont really think there will be problems anyways. but since someone has to subscribe for the hall - that guy is responsible for anything what happens there. and unfortunately that person is me :-( so i have a little bad feeling about changing the rule.
well - ppl keep complaining about this rule - so we are going to think the rule over. thats something i can promise. im always open for serious arguments |

as much as I see how important it would be to include the new generation blabla.
After all this is no 'rule' to be thought over. The thought is, obeying or breaking the rule. And never underestimate the eternal bordom of german police and stuff.
I doubt though that a few <18 peeps cause any trouble (unless they're naked chicks).
Also: how freakin cool is a northern group-party?!!
And about partyplace ANDOR restrictions: noone ever claimed we love the german laws :)

anyways... we have an organizer meeting with graham, axis and claraydon this weekend and will talk about it.
most likely it looks like we will keep the rule but make exceptions if some other ppl say they know the guy <18 very well and tell us hes ok.
so knoeki would be welcome. maybe that helps it. |

I guess it's the same everywhere: this morning there was a big article in a Dutch newspaper about a Dutch couple that decided to move back to Holland because they were having problems with everybody, from their neighbors to the police. And I'm quite sure the same thing happens over here as well.

if you didnt grow up (or you still live in the 1940s) and see the world like this - just stay at home then and dont join the party since its meant to be in a friendly atmosphere with cool ppl and not full of idiots. |

this weekend we are going to have another organizer meeting to talk about competitions and stuff.
i think on monday i will have time to update the party-page with more detailed infos about the invitation.
i think we will make it possible to send in entrys by mail. but those entrys would just be for fun and fame. prices can only be given to ppl attending. but thats just my private opinion about this. so check the website on monday or tuesday plz since i dont know yet what the other organizers say. |

axis has some half-finished parts. but the time is maybe too short to make a "mega-demo" out of them.
eventually we will be able to release a short party-demo consisting of an intro + 1 or 2 parts.
so nothing much to expect from us for now ;-) lets see how things work out.
actually axis is still working on the invitation demos - but hes making good progress. |

- the competitions are announced now (sry i know its a little late)
- you can send in your entry by email. but ppl not attending will be excluded from the prizegiving.
- we will go for a few more updates tonight (like the adress of the party-place and how you get there)
