no example. I think its schizophrenic how Trazan (and the cracking scene in general) looks down on games and call them tshirts and bumper stickers, while at the same time the same games with a crackintro infront of them are the holy grails. I wonder if paying some respect to the originals would destroy the self-belief that cracking was nothing wrong at all.

Actually there is a lot more effort into making games than into most cracking, just putting +2 cheats on it and running the 250 blocks through cruncher and packer isn't really a big thing. Still cracking was an important part, imagine without the cracking scene we wouldn't have had all the beloved games back in the 80s and had to share a very few amount of originals (sometimes with nasty copy protections). Also I don't think the argument agaist original software is that the work behind isn't appreciated but the well... what is the argument? To remain on the term SCENE database? not really an argument. That other sites like GB and Lemon exist? Good point. But no reason not to include non-scene stuff. Not to attract 1000s gamers and lamers? Hm, that might be the reason. But then again, those would be here for the cracks as well.

I guess some people put too much value into the C64 scene.

this has been beaten to death. scene productions are scene productions, and commercial games...are not.

this is much more about quality over quantity than anything else. we don't want a database which has a bit of everything, we want one that has all scene productions.

oh well, just keeping the dead horse. o_O

I suggest you open a Oswald Database, add just anything you like. I will contribute, but I rather not see you add crap the the SCENE database or argue about why you think it should be here. It wont be a section for stickers, nor carbumpers anyway. Really!

Yes, your opinion does differ from what CSDB and the Scene stands for, thats ok, CSDB will not change anyway to actually host your collection of Commodore Stickers. The Scene will not change its history because you think introlinking is lame.

Intros did belong to the scene, Commodore Tshirts didnt. Never will!

If you find me abusing my rights, I suggest you actually do look up the Help section;
"Services provided by CSDb:
CSDb has grown to be a rather big database of the C64 scene"

Tshirts, Bumperstickers and matchbox cars from Commodore isnt part of the scene. Listing Originals isnt part of the scene.

"Goals

1. CSDb tries to collect as much information about what we call the "productive Scene" as possible. as such we sometimes need to define what we consider to qualify as such, and what doesn't. "

Tshirts, Bumperstickers and matchbox cars from Commodore isnt part of the scene. Listing Originals isnt part of the scene.

You are free to have your opinions about CSDB, the evil moderators who refuse to change the rules of the scene and its history. Its Ok.
Whats not OK is the nonstop trolling from you in each and every thread. No matter how much your opinions differ from the evil moderators, the supporting sceners and the standards of the scene itself, we WILL not list
Tshirts, Bumperstickers and matchbox cars from Commodore.Its not part of the scene. Listing Originals isnt part of the scene.

What about scene group T-Shirts then. 8-)

I bought a Sisters of Mercy shirt back in my Hitmen times... it's still somewhere in the basement, very outwashed, the star/head symbol can hardly be seen anymore.

IMHO

CSDb = The C-64 Scene Database
Crack = Scene release
Commercial game != Scene release
