Swedish party this summer - date?
Hello freaks!
Another Swedish party (such as LCP/St:LCP/BFP/Floppy/etc) will be held this year in july. The partyplace is the same as the one for last year's St:LCP, but now with more tables and a slightly "bigger" approach in general (more like BFP).
There are basically two options regarding the date:
1. 17-19 july
2. 31 july - 2 august
So, please... All of you who seriously consider going there, make a vote for either 1 or 2!
Just wanna check if either date is clearly better than the other, or so.

I promised Macx to go there, so I would prefer the 2nd option. |

Voting for the second option as well. Why change a winning concept? :-) |

Sorry.. I should have phrased the question in a different way.
Instead, I'd like to ask:
Please specify which, if any, of these two dates is impossible for you, or whether both are possible. |

#2 is impossible for me. Wild horses can't keep me from coming to #1. |

I'll probably make an appearance regardless which date it is. However since I would like a chance to chat with Archmage, I vote for #1. ;)

Both are probably possible for me, but I'm a bit surprised people don't keep the first weekend of August/last weekend of July free by now. :-P |

Basically #2 is best since it's apx just a week after payday which #1 isn't. |

Agreed on a general level, but some things can't be altered: like the day your grandad turns 90. :) |

I just have to remind people that Jucke dismissed his brothers's stag party in order to attend St:LCP 2008. Hehe... He should recieve the scene medal of honour for this! |

I'll come no matter what, but #1 is definitely easier. |

Due to various reasons, #1 (17-19 july) seems 98% decided due to various reasons.
Sorry to those of you who can't come then, like Johey, who has been a faithful visitor at many of the LCP parties.

I would have gone with #2 too, because it would have meant two more weeks until deadline :)
Edit: Any indications of WHERE it will take place? |

From the first post:
"The partyplace is the same as the one for last year's St:LCP, but now with more tables and a slightly "bigger" approach in general (more like BFP)"
So I assume we are heading to Lund this summer again! |

Doh, I read it as "The partyplace is _about_ the same as the one for last year's", only bigger. |

i feel that the voting was unfair to start with, since #1 was #1 and #2 was #2. it is of course better if #1 would be #2 and #2 would be #1 AND that #1 would be #1 and #2 would be #2. due to various reasons, it all adds up to sweet irrational democracy, fascist-frantic. |

I agree totally with goto80! F.ex. I would personally have prefered #3 but there weren't any. |

LCP is the best party I know, my absolute favourite as a visitor, so I would go any date of the year. It's a matter of priority. And LCP is... TOP PRIORITY! |

Doh! How could I miss this post and not vote?
Option #2 would've been best for me, since my vacation hasn't started yet during option #1.
Oh well, no big deal, I'm sure I can make it anyway. =) |

I heard rumours that Instinct will release a demo on LCP 2009! Now, the big question is... Will the booze boys accept to be beaten in the compo? ;) |

AFAIK Instinct has never beaten any Booze-demo in any competition so what's the big fuzz here? Ok, be it the Instinct-Horizon-Triad coop has beaten us once perhaps, but i'm ok with that :). That kind of "rest-of-Sweden-agains-us" can not count for real, so don't worry ;). |

"The partyplace is the same as the one used for last year's "St:LCP 2008" - "Hemvärnsgården" (check the map) - but the party itself will be bigger. More like the Big Floppy People parties and the biggest of the previous LCP parties. There will be more tables for the precious home computers and more of everything else too!"
so if there are more tables, where do you want people to sleep ? if there are also more people ?

I don't see a problem. It's not like people won't find a place to sleep.
The area between the party hall and the kitchen is still completely free (and people were hardly filling that area last year) and people can still sleep in the main hall. In fact, the arrangement of tables last year was kind of spatious.. It is no problem bringing in more tables in there without necessarily filling up the area. Remember that almost half the party hall did not contain tables last year? ...AND you can always sleep under tables too (I usually do).
Also, I should add, it is possible to put up a few tents outside, in case someone should prefer that.
So, all in all, I don't see any real reason to bring this up as if it was a problem. I might also add that I have arranged 10+ parties so far, and we've had no problems with the place being so full that you can't sleep on any of those, including the ones with smaller party places than this (relative to the number of visitors).
...but of course; In case you are the kind of person that need 10 meter of free space in all directions around you, then I guess computer parties aren't the place to stay overnight. ...but that is another question. |

From the site news:
"HCL signed up something like 2 seconds after I wrote the previous news entry. He is awarded eternal glory and double vote-power in the compo!"
Well, that is the only thing he'll win this time around. ;) |

Here I am trying to stir some healthy competitiveness, and you guys keep patting each others' backs? What I was hoping for from HCL was a reply like "wuhaHA BD will make a demo that will crush Instinct like the bugs they are!". Seems like I haven't quite figured out the motivation-dynamics behind demomaking. Sorry. ;) |

Well, you forgot to mention the word 'impossible'. ;) Oh, and talk about weak and ghey Swedes also helps :D |

if you don't sleep in the party hall, you're missing out on TEH PARTY SPIRIT!
nothing more fun than waking up with some scener snoring in your ear while someone else is yelling SCHEISSE!
FUCK YEAH! \:D/

FUCK YEAH! \:D/ We're not all still 16 :) But yeah, that used to be the way to go. Also add not sleeping for 48+ hours, then getting 3 hours of bad sleep in the noise, and staying up for two more days, only consuming chips'n'cola. What a "natural" trip that was :)
