Opening up registration on a friday night? I barely made it, and that was out of sheer luck. I don't know. Feels bad man. How about a larger venue so attendance wouldn't be a lottery?

The C64 invitation was supposed to go out well before registration opened (it has been done for 2 weeks). Not sure WTF happened there.

Places where you can do 48 hours of non-stop drunken data are hard to come by. We're not aware of a larger venue that would work.

We'll do a 2nd round of registration once the cock-ups like Quadflower have been sorted. As always seats will be released as people drop out.

Or how about an even smaller venue and adding the possibility to pay yourself ahead in line?

Seriously, the size of current parties should be concidered. Pre-sign up is ok, but having the party at a place with less than 200 seats isn't really ok, atleast not after a party is established. Where they are (save than "in this generic area") and exactly how the venue looks isn't that important, something the X-parties have proven over and over.

Due to overwhelming demand we have come to an agreement with the staff at the party place. 60 new tickets will be available next Sunday the 9th of October at 21.00 CET. Unfortunately, these tickets will be for non-computer space slots. You will not get booked table space with these tickets. It's the best we could do for you guys, so do not miss your ticket this time!

Yeah, somehow I knew you were still pissed about that. I don't know what to say other than as we stated on the homepage we knew the size of the venue was far from ideal, and we actually made serious attempts to find a new one to the very last minute. We will make it larger next year.

About prepayment it was a simple matter of economy. We couldn't afford having only 70% of the preregistered visitors actually showing up and paying, and we were really pushing the limit with the amount of visitors we allowed, so we had to add some kind of incentive to prepay. I thought I was clear enough about it on the registration page, but alas I failed.

Feeling better now?

Thumbs up to the Datastorm organizers for arranging a party for us C64 nerds! I am most grateful. In addition, I think the party venue rules.

That's a shame, I am moving to Sweden in the end of Jan 2012 and won't even be able to enter the party :( 10% of people from the list won't show up anyway.

Digger: Don't give up. They usually send out a confirmation mail before the event which should clear some seats.
