Awaiting C-One?
After reading about the tulip gamestick (Is there a way to play multiplayer games with that?) I remembered the C-one project which still isn't finnished ( http://c64upgra.de/c-one/ )
Are there more c64 sceners waiting for it to come out? |

Most C-64 sceners seem to prefer the C-64. |

Don't really know anything about it, but this sentence on the website got me worried: "While retaining almost all of the original's capabilities..." |

Don't take "almost" too serious. It means for sure a 95% compatibility, which isn't that bad! Or is it...? %)
I won't buy one, by the way. I'd rather get a Speccy just for curiousities sake than a C-One. ;-) |

I don't wanna wait any longer.
But there seems to be no way to tell them I want to buy..
The sellers list is lame, don't have any info.

Well, my guess is that the C1 will become a curiosity in itself, so there is no reason not to buy it, Steppe ;). But yeah, I agree with Puterman. As a heavy SID addict, I should be swarming around the idea of having 2 SIDs in stereo, or 4 in quadrophony... yet I don't, because I prefer just the one SID. Three voices, one filter, subject to the speed limitations as put forward by the main processor and that typically great sound you can experiment so much with... |

I think the C-One represents a good step in the right direction, but it's a little early. As most 64's are getting a little up there in age, it won't be long before they start getting hard to find... and at that point, the C-One will be a welcome addition to the line. But at the moment, it's not much more than a novelty.

Ofcourse it's not a c64 and is only capable to act as one (and is able to cope with original c64 peripherals aswell as modern ones) but isn't anybody remotely interested in recycling and upgrading their c64 knowledge to a higher platform on the c-one's native os? Think of all the possibilities... It will never replace my 64 or the good times I've spend with it ofcourse.... but.... something new which is compatible with the old? why not?
Either way, I'd really like to have one! ;) |

C=1 would be nice if useful software/tools would become available for it.The talk is mainly a hardware one.Probably we have to make software ourselfs. |
