Demoscene as UNESCO heritage

Which countries did put demoscene on UNESCO heritage list so far? I know about Finland and Germany. Also Polish demoscene became such on 15th of December this year. Any other info regarding this topic?

First of all: nice to see the list growing and that PL managed to get the demoscene on the UNESCO heritage list ;)

According to

http://demoscene-the-art-of-coding.net/news/,

the countries that started a campaign to get the demoscene on the list are DK, FIN, GER and PL - and for the latter three it successfully ended in a nomination.

The question is wether there are more countries that started a campaign and if there's a better reference that shows more such candidates.

Slightly off-topic, but... i wonder how much of an actual impact this UNESCO intangible cultural heritage stuff has.

Some more sponsoring money from governments for demo parties, perhaps?

There is indeed financial support available, at least in Germany. An overview of funding opportunities:

However, it would involve a considerable initial outlay in any case as the doc itself states ... but might pay out ;-)

this heritage classification might also be a motivation for developers in general.

https://vc64web.github.io with its integrated csdb.dk browser user interface for example states in its about text:

„In 2021 the Demoscene was accepted as UNESCO cultural heritage. Following this spirit, vc64web wants to connect people to those amazing artwork and culture. It therefore links to demo content of the biggest external Demoscene website (csdb.dk) for the c64…“

quite nice that it thereby links the two terms cultural heritage and CSDb ;-)

Another preservation project about the history of BBS might also be exciting and interesting
