Happy New Year 2022!
The CSDb moderator team wishes all of you a Happy New Year 2022 - OF COURSE!
Stay healthy and off COVID-19 (including all of it's previews, updates and cracks).
Our thoughts are with all the scene warriours and their families which we lost during the past months. You will not be forgotten.
Over 3000* releases in 2021 is just WOW (no matter the quality or age of things - it shows YOUR passion. :) )
Please keep it up and forgive weird looking to long lasting moderator comments and decisions also in 2022. We are also getting old, slow and the real life thing is a true 8 bit time killer sometimes.
We are definately aware that there are quite a few open topics among users and usability around here and those are not only discussed but we are indeed trying to address them.
On the other hand a moderator (such as me) can check up and down on users, statistics and participation - no dice. It is embarassing to see that some users have a loud opinion but NEVER EVER saw the UPDATE button on entries they didnt create on their own.**
MANY of you can simply open a few entries and check on their correctness, fix them, add proper screenshots or change to better fileformats. Dont deny your expertise in binary forensics! INSTEAD blablabla on IRC, Discord, Slack, even local PM, etc.
20 years of CSDb and open data to external sites - WE want another 20 - how about you?
* (registered HERE - not counting the MANY BBS only releases and hidden FTP sites!)
** while there are also some (too few) users of which you never read a comment or post but who constantly update entries - MEGA HAIL TO THOSE! You know who you are. MSG me if you are fine with being worshipped on similar posts :) |

C64 is eternal. This is an undeniable fact of life.

I feel like I've uploaded way too many screenshots over the last year or two than I needed to. Anyway, I'll head back to the chat to blahblahblah etc.etc. :D

May CSDb have eternal life like our favourite machine of all time. <3 |

First of all, a huge THANK YOU to C0 and the whole mod staff! You did an incredible job, not only in 2021 - no matter the discussions and the comments here and there that got a bit harsh from time to time.
I think this should and must be said from the user side also - and I really hope we will get along more friendly in the future.
This being said, I wish everyone (ofc not only the mod staff;)) here on csdb a

Happy new year folx!
Seems like Graf Nullzahls comment hit some nerves as there seeems to be more "updating" ongoing than usual XD
That said: I don't care being a vocal lazy guy. Don't know shit about "scene history" – I wasted my youth elsewhere. I tried to contribute entering results from recent parties, but often gave up when beeing confronted with too many "locked" entries.
So, let's get that shitty virus under our boots too keep on getting punch drunk at parties and whining about up- and downvoting on CSDb afterwards, like it used to be ;-) – at least in the most recent chunk of C64 demoscene that I know of and learned to love <3
Cheers,
spider. |
