Something I still don't understand even after 20 years of CSDb

Why are the product comments reversed (i.e. in non-chronological order), whilst the forum is fine? It makes me crazy.

Forums are supposed to be read in chronological order, they're discussions.

Comments are supposed to state a fact or an opinion about productions, and are not supposed to be discussions.
So it makes sense to list them latest-first.

A button to flip sorting order would be nice, though. =)

Well, still feels unnatural to me.

But. Why I am wondering about logic on CSDb anyway.

The Comment function is (like the (down-)voting function) some wanna-be-(anti-)social media style gadget, and thus, always has latest posting on top, because the Zoomers and the Hipsters ain't got no time to waste with scrolling.

Forums are for us online dinosaurs (GenX and Boomers), we read everything, anyway and want to read it like a paper left-> right and top-down, because anything else would feel whacko.

Just my 2 cents of course.

PS: Wouldn't _mind_ such "flip" button as suggested by Krill, but also wouldn't say it's an urgent thing to implement

Personally, i want to see the latest comments first in all cases. Cases goes like;

1) If it's my own product, i'd like to see if anyone wrote something new about it since i've already read the previous comments.

2) If it's an older product (let's say Deus Ex Machina from 2000), i'd like to know what people think about it today. Because i already know what was the initial reaction to that demo, i was there. But i'd like to see what people think about it 20+ years later.

3) Last but not least, initial comment for hot products can be a little bit cheesier. A party is over, people are excited (and probably drunk). Many of the new releases get comments like "Amazing!", "Wow!", "I'm impressed" etc etc. Been there done that... But a few comments later someone makes a comment which makes more sense like "great work. that bump mapping part was the best i've seen on this platform. also music is one of a kind". Since many people reads the comments first before writing their own comments, comment section's quality starts getting better and better. Also we are the ones who like reverse engineering, right? You see an answer first and seek for the related comment, more fun. :)

Having said all that, Pouet's comments are by chronological order and i've no problem with it. So, i think even if i prefer CSDb's way, it seems like i can easily adapt since i've never even thought about it before until you mentioned it.

Just use http://csdb.chordian.net – JCH has reversed the comments for you.
And as a bonus it looks so much better, with screenshots, profile pics etc.
