C64 emulation on iphone - situation in 2024
After a few years of trying to like android, and never really getting there, I'm switching back to Apple camp. What's the c64 emulator situation nowadays? My use case is to test out prgs and sids my group mates share via our discord chat, so being able to execute own code is a must. I'm aware of Gekko C64, however according to the reviews it looks like yet another not-very-complete project.
Altenatively, if no native, good ios apps are available, an online emulator may do as well if such even exists (and emulate c64 well). |

They allowed emulators in the store a while ago - you should be able to find eg a retroarch port (which includes VICE) |

There is the PWA based emulator called vc64web which offers also CSDb-Media-Browser interface for maximum convenience.

Best emulator I’ve found right now on iOS / iPadOS is Vice embedded into retroarch. I was using a downloaded vc64web js version before. Other emulators are not as good at the moment, provided that I haven’t missed one new. |
