Multipage screen/color editing tool?
Hi,
Could anyone recommend a good multipage screen/color editing tool?
I'm looking for something that will edit a number of screens containing the original c64-font + color ram. It is ok if it just works on ram, i.e no load/save. I would like it to have some form of insert/delete row, preferably copy/paste.
I want to use it for writing help screens which will be integrated in a program I've made.
Looking at the wealth of note writers and similar tools I'm thinking that this has already been written. :)
If not, maybe I'll write one.

fieserWolf/Metalvotze made a petscii editor once.
You can download it here:

Don't know if it supports multiple pages tho.

I tried ascii-edit 3, but it doesn't support multipage.
Also insert/delete works very poorly. There are strange remains of the original kernal screen editor, e.g quote mode and insert mode is not disabled properly...
Btw, the DTV's are still rocking here, thanks! :) |

It seems that the AR6 editor does pretty much what I want, except the multipage stuff. Copy/paste would have been a nice addition though.
Still looking... |

Here (Recollection #1) I find the links: Graphic Editor (J.Fox) and http://noname.c64.org/csdb/forums/?roomid=9&topicid=11172. Following the latter gives you this one: ftp://c64.rulez.org/pub/c64/Tools/Graphics/misc/ which doesn't contain a Graphic Editor/TCOM.
Do you mean that this is the same as the J. Fox editor?
I'll have a look at it. It seems to have a lot more bells and whistles than just text editing with copy/paste, but maybe it can do that too... ;)

this is the one.
press f7 to get into the menu, and H for help. read through _carefully_ the help screens.
you can edit any size screens. coloring will present a problem, this editor can assign colors fixed to characters only.

Don't know if that's what you're searching for, but I think on one of the "Tales of Esgaroth" series was a editor (me thinks, it should be this one: Tales of Esgaroth 3). |

It took me a while to find it, it wasn't on all of the linked .d64's. It's this one: Tyronpaint V2.0.
This program looks very promising! :)
The only con (for my use) is that it seems to be limited to ~8 pages of text, but it'll work for now.
Thanks! |
