Commodore Promotion Video

Hello,

We’ve got a german commodore promotion video. This video was played in computer stores to promote commodore in the mid 80th.

The video lasts 1 hour, the first part (1/2 hour)is about C= in gerneral it shows the chipfactory in Westchester, and the assembly of an C64 in Braunschweig/Germany.

The second part contains some "customer information" about the commodore products, in particular about C64 and VIC 20 hard- and software.

The file is about 600MB, and you can download it via te edonkey fileshareing network.

Actually the serverlist has near zero impact on the download-rate. Just my experience, and I make heavy use of the donkey-network since the very beginning.
If you want to push spreading of the file then:
1. Use e-mule, because it has some features that the old edonkey doesn't have, like priority settings of your upload-files.
2. Set your upload as high as possible, about 85% of your maximum -> The more you share the more you get!
3. As soon as you downloaded the first packet of the promo-vid it will appear in the "Files" section. Set the priority to "release", while setting all other files' priorities to low or normal.

That will accelerate the spreading of the vid considerably.

I know that's not an e-mule board, so sorry for the slightly offtopic posting. But I want to see that video before next christmas... ;-)

Maybe it's just me, but I experience much more filecorruption when I use eMule instead of eDonkey.

Apart from v0.25a I never ever had a corrupted file. v0.25b works fine, but be sure to activate the I.C.H. feature. Has something to do with intelligent error correction, don't ask me about the specs of that feature.

ICH attempts to find where in the 9.?mb chunk the corruption might be (i think it hashes with a smaller size or something) then you don't need to download the whole chunk again. It won't magically fix errors or stop you getting corrupt chunks, it will save you download time ;)

Steppes No3 is the best thing you can do to get the file faster (set the file to release). Unfortunatly whoever came up with the "credits" thing on eMule was stupid. It means if a file is rare (maybe only 1 source) and that guy doesn't want to download anything from you, you get no credit with him and therefore can be bypassed by other people who he is downloading from (I've had a 1 source file on download for about a month now, 0 bytes). Lets hope they remove the credits stuff soon and everyone can get back to sharing.

JCB, you never know if that guy wasn't a cheater with zero-upload-patch or something. But I know what you mean, it took me about 2 months to get that damn Levellers CD complete.
And sure, other people can overtake you in the cue, but sooner or later you get to the top of it. Just watch the QR.

hello

1.you can find the video: if you try to search "commodore" and look for a file about 600MB.
2.The same thread was written in the german forum-64.de and the admin "c64doc" said, that his friends mr.museum and his brother has ripped the video, and he don´t want that you donwload it with edonkey or emule or whatever.
If you send him an empty cd-rom hi will copy it for you.
for further questins you can ask him at info@doc64.de

Sorry, that's crap. I can't imagine he bought the copyright for that vid, I can't see any other reason why he should be against downloading it via P2P.
At the moment I've got 202 sources for the video, which means that at least 200 other guys want to download it. You need at least a 400x burner to finish burning all those CDs before you or the one who wants the video dies... ;-) LOL
