www.c64web.com a real c64 webserver.
www.c64web.com has been updated to contiki v2.1.1
I am looking for some feedback on the site even some recommendations on changers i could make.
If you wish to have your own home page served from a real commodore 64 email me your html but keep it simple also any links you wish to add to the links page.
You could do a simple link page to your Top Demos or projects etc anything commodore related. :)
c64web user's a RetroReplay/RRNet Cartridge for the Ethernet interface and all html is served from a 1541 floppy drive keeping with the spirit of the website the commodore 64 is a 1982 unmodified commodore 64.
Has been running now 24/7 for about 6mths or so.

wow, very nice job there, the site layout is very good, clean and nice, not confusing. I'm afraid you wont get much feedback here as most ppl are into demos/cracking here :P uh you mean when I click something here, the 1541 starts to load over there ? :D holy cow :D thumbs up man! |

No web2.0, useless.
Just kidding - love it! If you don't do it already, I would look into caching the main page in RAM, so you don't wear out the drive :) |

Contiki v1.2 had the html compiled into the webserver.prg file so once the program was loaded it never went to the drive again but very time consuming compiling the code when you wanted to make changes moving the index.html file to the drive made life easier i will ask oliver about cache for the index.html file i know there is not much memory left.
one drawback with placing the html into the program file was memory you could only had about 300 bits to make up your webpage limiting the size of your page :(
You could use a REU instead of a drive i have a RamLink but
i want to keep it as low tech as possible.
Thanks zap |

c64web will be run from a RamLink instead of a commodore 1541 floppy drive for a few days to test contiki's stability with non commodore file systems and jiffydos.
The speed is noticeably faster using the RamLink proving the floppy drive is the bottle neck and not the commodore 64 or contiki.

Thumbs up, looks great!
Finally something interesting to show dorky admins (that I come across so often in business) as I haven't had anything interesting to show them since the c64 audioserver my groupmates Trasher and Trident had running (tfe.c64.org) stopped.
I'm just sorry I didn't notice this one earlier, but I've added it to my bookmarks straight away! |

Thanks
Why not write a small html webpage and i will host it on the
c64 for ya. :)
Any information including *.d64 or files would be greatly appreciated
on the subject of the audio server.
I have with no success being trying to emulate there audio server and files they used would be great.
I wish to place a c64 streaming audio full time 24/7 and attach it using a seperate c64 on c64web.

Thought it time for a quick update on our commodore 64 web-server.
Were approaching a mile stone 500,000 web pages served.
At 499,800 so hopefully this will happen any day now.
Due to short moments of large demand, mainly caused from posting of our web-server on Face Book,SlashDot and other large news sites, we have pointed the domain c64web.com to our apache web-server and posted a direct link to our Commodore 64 web-server there.
