hardware seen at x2008
after just coming off cloud nine my first X party i now have atleast 1 question for anyone who attended X or indeed didnt attend X..
while walking around all the tables at X i saw many different kinds of hardware setups....
i wonder if you could all tell me the different kinds of monitors/screens that you where using with your c64's/ssc64's or what ever you where using
also could you tell me where you got the cables to link these to the c64 as i want to get myself one to save space for the next party and to save space in my house for my c64 setup
thanks
maestro

My setup was a 128D with 1084 monitor.
The cable is a 8pin DIN to RCA conenctors cable.
Had a christmastree in the back (MMC64 + RR + RRNet).
Competition pro and arcade joysticks.
Not a particularly good setup but was easiest to take with me.

Hey Maestro, nice you came!
My party C64 fits in a single bag, because:
1 c64
1541u for disk storage
1 philips dvd player with AV in
To make the dvd work as monitor, i have a C64 AV cable, that is split in audio and video, then this is connected to a standard AV cable, going into the dvd player (7" screen). well in this case the dvd plug is a 3 poled connector, but thats a bit non standard.
My brother Devia built the C64 AV cable connector for me.
It's pretty simple to make.
Then a good headphones, that is plugged in the dvd player, and its possible to finish my tune on the party with no inteference (closed studio headphones).
You can find some small LCD monitors on ebay, 5", 7", 10" etc. - just find one that has AV in and headphones out, then get a cable that fits (get it made)
Zzap69 had a cool setup, his screen was only 4" i think, standing on top of his C64. thats all he needs, because he just makes music. (like me)

1702 monitor
c64c case with old mobo (6581 doped cows inside)
1541U hooked up, left my MMC64 at home, MdZ/transferteam borrowed my RR+RR-net
1541 (with flip door, instead of the lame push doors, which always get my floppies stuck).
2 standard cbm serial cables
cbm standard video/monitor cable.
Things on my wish/todolist: headphone out / RCA-out for the SID.
