Jostickplug-/cable
Hello guys.
Does anyone know if it is possible to get a jostick-plug or joystic-cable with plug for c64-joystick enywhere? http://www.vesalia.de/ sells new joysticks for commodore but not the cables alone.

Indeed, every pad or stick with the same looking plug should work on the C64. I think the MegaDrive used the same standard, and did the early Atari consoles. |

On the megadrive pads, tho, don't press start, beacuse it grounds something that should not be, and sometimes blows the c64 fuse :) |

don't wanna be a know-it-all but if you want to buy a plug like that it is called:
9-pin sub-d female connector
according to the bible you need pin 1,2,3,4,6 and 7.
This goes for both ports...
And for cables you can use any. It's just connecting the +5v to the proper input so no shielding or twisted pairs needed. |

Umm, the different signals are grounded to activate them.
Please don't use +5V as common. |

the information was for changing a defect cable on an old joystick. I used 6 of the wires of a LAN-cable and a standard rs232 plug, that did the job!
tnx for the comments! |
