How many millions C64 sold ?

Maybe "On the Edge" book says that ~25 million C64 were sold... or maybe this figure came from somewhere else. I dont know..

In this video, http://www.veoh.com/browse/movies#watch%3Dv17429599xARKRfG7
Watch from the start, and when show is started, the guy on the right says that there's ~70 million sold in USA alone.

Huh ?

Somewhere between 17 and 18 million C64's. This does not include the 4 million C128's (which can be counted as "C64's" aswell) and I don't think it includes C64GS or Max Machine.

Didn't they sell around 5 million C128/C128D?

Do those numbers include the Drean c64's produced (or assembled, rather) in Argentina? Were there similar deals in other parts of the (not-so-free-trade-as-now) world back then?

It would be nice with statistics from the different manufacturing plants; Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, UK, USA x many, etc.

17-18 millions are the official numbers of 1993. We don't know how many C64s are sold after that date but I bet on less than a million.

i dont think so , in Argentine Drean Commodore 128 build only 500 , and Drean Commodore 64 / Drean Commodore 64c only 500.000 ....

regards ..

From Argentine

I have a Guinness World Records 2001 annual mentioning the C64 as "Most successful computer" and states that APPROXIMATELY 30 million machines were SOLD between 1982 and 1993. I don't think the people at Guinness know much though... they wrote "it has 16K sound"... that sounds misleading.
