retro scene *anthem* :)

whilst searching youtube recently for the Biggles theme to link on my artwork, i digressed as usual and ended up trawling for old themes and music from my past.

I found this one which i think is a perfect anthem for the retro computer/games/scene. particularly those of us for whom its not the first time "round the block". :)

its contemporary too at 1985 :) (and one of the best uk programs of the 80s)

Argh I hoped for something less chessy and more hartkor.. but as usual.. I cannot understand text and enjoy the music at the same time, so I was just listening to music and feeling the mood in the voice. I think if I ever tried to touch this tune and do a cover, I would probably start with speeding it up.. a lot! ;-)))

p.s.: I hope I don't sound too harsh. I was growing up on macgyver, knight rider, ufo (britisth tv series), professionals, dempsey and makepeace.. (etc.) music motives.. and that left irreversible damages on my musical tastes ;-))

one for all, UFO (1970, British TV series)

hmmm... yes... but... STE :)

C64 scene anthem: Commando, or Monty on the Run.
only tunes that can carry the legend, still ? :)

80s was good because we was 17 and could do anything.
so we all want to go back... or do we ? :D

STE'86 pics are C64 scene gfx anthem, i could name just any pic from 1986, and that could carry the legend, today also.

Yie Ar Kung Fu loaderpic.. Steve Wahid ?
Always wanted to meet him!

Everything is one click, listen once, see once, laugh and make joke on facebook, delete and forget.

for real value, things that MEAN something to us, we look at the old photo album.. it was another time, the world was different and naive, and we had no worries.

what IS retro ?

i think... retro = Keep and use old SOLID values of life, and dont hyper it up too much with modern stuff, because the older we get, the harder it becomes to follow the endless pace of the modern world. modern world is demanding more than people can do, and breakdowns and depression is the order of the day.

what can we do about it ?

is it politics or is it philosophy ?

hope to see you some day STE.
maybe i can go on a trip with someone. bye for now. :)
