Strange sound problems with VICE

Hello all!

I've upgraded my system last week to a Core i7 3770 CPU with 8GB RAM, Windows 7 and a new sound card: Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Edition. Today I note that VICE obviously have sound problems which occur after 1-2 Min. Suddenly the sound starts stuttering, no matter which settings I use, even with the latest VICE Version V2.4. I'm using the latest sound drivers from Jan. 2013. Changing the sound option from Direct X to WMM or increasing the sound buffer doesn't help in any way. The curious thing is that the stuttering effects are disappearing and the sound is getting normal after moving the mouse on PC but only for a while, see above. :-(

Full screen mode seems to work fine with the Direct X option but not the window mode. Trying the x64 version leads to the very same result. Other emulators like YAPE or WinUAE don't have any issues like this. Anyone have an idea how to fix this issue?

Recent WinVICE at http://vice.pokefinder.org - please test with a nightly build and if the problem remains, report to the bug tracker :)

I'm having a similar problem since upgrading. (to an i3 and using some cheap Behringer USB sound device) After a couple of minutes the sound begins to stutter, no buffer/timing changes seem to fix it. It's only happening in window mode for me though, full screen is fine. I haven't been able to verify this, but it seems more likely to happen when the screen is maximized.

edit: the nightly build (27244) seems to have fixed it, cheers.

Unfortunately not for me, tested with Build 27244 and 27250 and every settings. I've checked the Log-File and it seems that the sound problems has been minuted as following:

Sound: Warning - Sound Puffer Überlauf (Zyklus basiert)
Sound: Warning - Sound Puffer Überlauf (Zyklus basiert)
Sound: Warning - Sound Puffer Überlauf (Zyklus basiert)
Sound: Warning - Buffer overflow warning repeated 25 times, will now be ignored

Exiting...
Sound: Closing device `wmm'

I've created a report on the tracker hoping that the Log- an INI-File will help to solve this problem as I need this Emulator and the window mode for my radio/video liveshows.
