Looking for Intro/part of demo... pls help
Well, it was in time when i didnt understand english very well and my memory failed when it comes to remember group who made this intro/part of demo so i ll try to describe it :)
-background was black
-scrolling of text was from down of screen to upper part
-very smooth scrolling (i was surprised :)
-very cool font was used and acted as it was hand written
-music was extremly great - violin in fast tempo
-scrolling of text repeated in realativly short period
It could be intro but i think its last part of some demo which someone ripped and saved to tape in turbo tape format.
If this intro/part of demo reached me here in Croatia, it must have been very famous since local pirates swapped only few very cool demos/intros.
Thats all i can remember, so thx for any info/clue which can help me find this demo/intro :)
TrojanBarber
p.s thanks to this site i found Mel & Kim Digi, whitch i searched very very long time :) |

Why would anyone post stupid replies like this?
If you dont have better things to do, PM i can suggest few..
And to add aprox. time frame when i spotted this intro, it was around 1988-1989 so anything made in 1990 and onward is not this thing.
THX for reading :) |

I dunno. I can be very unpredictable sometimes...
Anyway, the info you are giving is like looking for a needle in a haystack as demo's from 1988-1990
- have for 95% a black screen
- have always cool music
- have very smooth scrolling
Atleast give us a groupname.

@TrojanBarber: try some newer demos, who knows you just might like 'm! :)
Was this demo in question a multipart demo? Did it feature some other peculiar parts? Was this upscroller in low/upper border.. Was the text about something in particular.. et cetera..

what was the color of the scroller? white, grey or flashing?
in the short text, do you remember anything? info like, "we went to see Willow this weekend, great movie" or "the latest album by Metallica rules".. or anything that could indicate the orgin of the demo..
and btw check this to understand Scouts answer; Anybody know this demo.... |

Hello again,
i ll try to clarify so maybe someone will recognise :)
- there was no sidescrolling of text in upper or lower part of screen (only scrolling text from bottom of screen towards up ; no border was used ; text wasnt too long and it repeated)
- sadly i am shame to tell :) but C64 was hooked to black and white small russian tv so i can say text was clearly visible so white or brighter grey was probably used
- text WAS special since that was first time for me to see font that imitated handwriting and yet was very readable
-it was no multipart demo, only one screen (but i suspect maybe its last part of some multi loading part demo) since i just remembered that you couldnt exit it in any way (i didnt have reset switch so i switched off to exit)
-I STILL remember cool music which played, if i had microfone i would record my ugly voice singing it :)... it played some sort of violine (best comparasion) in begining than other channels would kick in and music then continue in c64 way :), but that violine in begining is what made me to remember it for all this years
Well now memory fades, cant think of anything else...
If someone have other question post it, maybe that triggers some of my failure memchips hehe
Thx for trying to help |

how big were the letters roughly? you say it looked like handwriting, so i'm guessing the letters were quite big?
It's hard to imitatie handwriting in a small font.. |

A recording of your voice singing the sid would definitley help. And give me a good laugh on top of that, probably! :-) |

Hello again :)
WVL - as i remember now, there was some lines with bigger letter but most of them was middle to small sizes (not too small of course :)
Zyron - very hard to tell since it was B&W TV but i would say single color with no flashing of any kind (again this is very blurry in memory so i could be wrong :)
Steppe - well i think you would really laught for at least few mins hehe but off course i wouldnt link recorded file publicaly (thx for PM hint to someone really nice :)
Vai - sadly its not Slammer.sid by Xayne but thx so much for at least posting something i could try :)
I got idea that would be best for me to get whole HVSC and play sid files in player which can support large playlist and play back 5-10 sec of begining of each tune and i ll eventually find it (it might took some time but much less than actually see all intros/demos here :)
If someone remember some specific title i should check, i ll ba glad to try it...
Thx guys and let me add that you have some real jewel inhere (database and forum :) |
