You can send your applications too, but if you send it for fastening, please include the following infos:

How about my graphic editor?

The easiest way to find is Richard Bayliss' website, contributor's stuff. It is used to create scrolling playfields and I have seen none editors like that whatsoever. Of course I have a version of my own, please let me know if you're interested.

If i think, that was downloaded today from the TND (?) website. If you think on the same editor, that i think, then i must say, thats my favourite.

I need it, offcourse.

Is your own version is different?

Not different, only without the TND labels in the disk directory.

Dosoo. I check your editor (at this time, not included into the toolbase). Id like it, but i see some years ago a similar multi editor, in that editor you can resize the map, the blocks, so, its wery usefull. At now i hunting this, because i NEED it, for a job.

Because the big interest, i put some info about the project.

The database includes these fields:

-Tool name
-Publisher/releaser (if a tool was improved and after released it, or bugfixed, the the field includes the last group name)
-Year (if found in the program)
-Screenshot (you can find your favourite tools if you dont know only the look and feel, and not his name)
-D64 file(or zip, if more than one disk side, or any other file is included) [maybe before the release, i zip it all]
-Two level gender
-Comment field, always filled, it includes infos like
"Converts 16 or 256 color BMP to IFLI, AFLI, FLI, KOALA"
(I cant put it into gender field, because the gender is too specific, not to searchable)

At temporary you cant access it. I have final exams in the univ, so i dont have much time.
But when im at my computer, and have more time, start an apache and an ODBC connection between the database, and then u can access it.

Blub Sucker? I am not my computer, so i cant say it now, but when im at my computer, i wrote about it for you.

there is a French Lycos site that has heaps of C64 tools. I think French although the text seems to be something else. Google for agony explorer protext and it should be a hit

Viktor, come on. It can't be that hard to make up a few categories to sort the tools...
Disk, graphic, music, other as the main categories I would say. You can then subdivide those main categories even further, like the graphics category into all the various modes, sprite- and charset tools...
Same with music: Music editors, ripper-tools, ...

Look at the main FTPs. They will have some idea. I suggest breaking them up into things like Gfx, Sound, Development, Compression, Archival/Backup, Disk, Noters, Misc. There may be some more you could add. Seems to work well for most places.

Something else that might help is making the database accessible for beta testers. If you you see the database actually working new ideas/suggestions pop up that can be usefull.

And what should i do with the multiple graphics mode editors? (ex: multi+hires) Need I a new category for these?

Yep, why not make subcategories for the various graphic modes? You could try if it is sensible to really split it up into all the submodes, or if Hires/Multicolour will do. Depends on how many editors you have gathered.

I Check some editors, and there are many mixed type.

Editor with char and sprite, editor with multi and hires.

If i make Gfx/HIRES and Gftx/Multi groups, when i get an editor with multi AND hires support, in wich category must i put it in?

both, you can add that to the record, think not like a 'directory structure'or something where an item can only be put in one place. But make the record, and add the details for it, so in this example: program type: hires editor, multi editor

For the offline using, i use only simple directory like structure in the database.

Well, guess you have to copy the files to the respective directories then, so you have two instances of the file on your harddisk.
A database structure however can assign more than one feature to one single entry. Just like Shake suggested.

What about cross-development tools? Like cross-assemblers (DASM, XA, ca65(?)), graphics converters, etc.

Is the intention of this archive/database to be strictly for native-c64-tools only, or are you interested in cross-tools too?

I personally think that cross-development tools would be nice and usefull addition.

At first the native, and after all the crossdev tools, or including some not mainly commodore releated, but very usefull tools (like multitrack midi to onetrack midi, because midi to sid converter can only converts one track midi)

There acutally ARE midi->sid converters? Hey, that's something interesting. Anyone into this who can give me some hints on software etc.? Would be nice. I did quite some midi-work, but never figured that this might be my ultimate pathway to c64-music :).

All the best.
