Out Run all tracks/routes?
Yo,
in 1987 or so, I got Out Run. It was a version which had multiple files, and each one represented a certain route through the game. The first stage always looked the same, but the later stages looked different.
Only when I saw the Amiga version I understood what this was about: Original Out Run lets you choose right or left way at the end of each stage. This was not present in the C64 version. To compensate this, multiple tracks/routes were supplied in different files. One of them was called "Vine Yard", I don't remember the others.
I don't have this version any more and I don't find it. Anyone can help?
Cheers,

Thanks Zyron... so at least someone else remembers it. :) I'm suprised there is no Nostalgia version... or even an advanced version that, at the end of each stage, let's you choose "left" or "right" and proceeds with the correct route. :) |

Nostalgia did a nice version of the better US version of it:

Very cool indeed. It plays a little slower but is also less "weird", especially because the main car sprite is better. And it has a map to choose the route, this is as close as it can get on the C64, I guess.
Thank you!

Yes, I remember that version of out run and i have it. But I remember that i have changed the filenames. Original filenames must be autobahn, lakeside, vine yard etc. For now, I haven't got any equipment to transfer it to pc. but as soon as possible I'll upload the disk image file. |

Good plan, please do so! I am sure you could also contribute a lot of missing stuff from the Turkish scene here. Cheers! |

Out Run + is quite good. I wish there was an alternative control scheme like the arcade version (hold button to accelerate and stick up/down to change gears). |
