Outlaw - C64 // Look-a-like on Amiga?
Do you know the C64 Game Outlaw?
Outlaw +5
Outlaw +16DH
I think there was a look-a-like game on the Amiga which was very close to Outlaw. Only, I cannot remember the name of the game on Amiga.
Can anyone help? |

Yes I know, the game's name must be different...
But I remember it has had also the WANTED posters in the beginning and was also up-scrolling western shooter, just like this C64-Outlaw. |

I'd say that you have a fair chance of finding it under the name of "Gunsmoke" aswell, or it's spanish name "Desperado". Outlaw was actually a clone of this arcade-game. Worth to note is that Gunsmoke actually was published on the C-64 aswell.

Anyone who have a link with description and pictures for "Gunsmoke" and "Desperado" on the Amiga? I never recall seeing those two titles on the Amiga.. but "Wanted" I have and played and it looked pretty much like Gunsmoke on the arcades and Outlaw on the C64 :-) |

Hi there,
First of all - thank you all for your feedback.
I think everything that has been contributed so far is right. But we still haven´t got the "big picture". The name "WANTED" sounds familiar to me. I think the game I first refered to was even something like "WANTED - DEAD OR ALIVE", but I am not sure. By the name of "WANTED" I have only found some Infogrames game on e.g. BTTR, whatsoever.
Further investigations have lead me to this http://www.reacsons.com/arcadehits/rom.asp?zip=gunsmoke site. It gives a good impression of the game. In fact, this seems to be the real arcade machine: As stated there, Gun.Smoke was a two board system, it used a Z80 for main and a custom processor for the sound CPU.
The Amiga Version is not included in the list of ported versions. That, however, is done at Computeremuzone http://computeremuzone.com/fichas/d/desperado.php. Here the "Desperado" name is used.
Afterall, it appears to be reasonable to assume that the game was converted to Amiga, but under another name.
Thus, I would be very interested to see screenshots of the WANTED game mentioned beforehand.
So WANTED is really wanted now. :-) |

Well - like I thought, this game can most likely only be "Wanted". It originates most likely from the coin-up game "Gun*Smoke". I haven't seen Gun*smoke or Desperado on the Amiga though. A screenshot of Wanted can be found here:
