Searching for a fast disk error-scan utility
The title says it all. I'd like to check out the physical conditions of my disks which were laying in a dusty room for years. |

check some copy programs... like fcopy3 or copy-q... some of the better ones had error scanners |

I always take the Disk Checker from Fatum for such tasks. I just uploaded it here, maybe it's the right tool for you:

PS: Sometimes the very first scan process doesn't work in a proper way, when starting the program. |

WarpCopy shows sector by sector status, and retries if a sector is unreadable. As a bonus you get a d64 :)

that would make sense, since you might only get 1 good read from each disk :) |
