wanted:programming the commodore 64 (disk)
it's a suplement disk that you could order with the book "programming the commodore 64" - the commodore 64 handbook by rae west / level computer publications.
in the book it states theres more programs than are listed in the book. Maybe someone out there bought it or got the disk..
the book I have and am porting for frantic at the moment, but it would be nice to include the disk with it also.
just as a side topic, although people like pdf's.. what about another version.. html, can't really use plain text due to some of the diagrams, just wondered what others thought. YES you can have it in it's original form, but I thought a html port might be a nice thing to do also, and filesize wise its also nice.

Not to forget their "high quality" Photoshop package, which eats up megabytes and megabytes of memory just to view the friggin' splash screen! aaaaaargh.... such a pain in the arsë ! ( exaggeration detected! :)
Personally I'd prefer the manual to be in html/ascii text format with scanned jpegs of any diagrams if possible. |

You don't need to use that PDF Reader from Adobe. Take Foxit Reader. That's smart and fast. And there exists a portable version, too.
Greetz!

yeah, but still there's a huge difference between a text designed to be displayed on paper, and between one designed to be read on a monitor. I prefer obviously to read monitor designed text on a monitor, and paper designed text on a paper. Mixing up the two does no good, and pdf's rigidness is horrible when you'd like the text to conform to your display. |

Alas, both versions would be preferable. A PDF for printing and archival purposes and an online readable version in whatever fancy format.
Personally I'd like the PDF to resemble the original book as closely as possible, meaning one should be able to print it and it would look exactly as the original book. This mostly results in huge PDF files, but wtf.. it's 2007! Space is freeeee.. =)
And yes, Foxit Reader is veeeery nice! ;-)

so far its like 900mb.. so gotta down scale it a bit, still not finished though. will probably make it black/white and make it 300dpi instead of 600dpi. still missing some pages I need to find, as I put it in a ring binder and left some of the pages in another box somewhere, but where.hhmm
