C/G - Worth to save
Spent last months sorting my + others discs, did find alot of old buffers from the boards. Some are just nonsense about old ancient releases and who did upload what first to what board, but some are of good information and some amazing graphics.
All in all, I am requesting a decent tool to actually cut/paste in those buffers to snip out the goodies from a long bufferfile.
Is it possible (for someone with the skills)to make such tool for any modern PC and emulate the C/G correctly? Magervalps term is great, but not quite the tool im looking for.

what format would you want to save in? c/g again? something notepad-style which doesnt display the c/g accuratly and lets you mark an area and save it as c/g should be almost trivial to make =P |

From SEQ file, C/G format, to blank SEQ file, C/G.
Not sure what can be done.
D64 editor can read SEQ, but doesnt emulate all C/G correct.
Are those buffers and graphics worth to save?
I still see no BBS section on Csdb. |

I think all buffers are worth saving, even the nonsense ones. |

Hmm..
Well, maybe this will help;
The Tboard painter by Tao/Triad (in my eyes the best c/g paint program ever) can do that.
TBoard-Painter V1.1 Pro
reads seq files or screen files, saves both too and it has several options to mark and copy and save blocks etc.
It's a c64 program, but i think it should do what you want it to do and of course you could use it in vice.

I agree. Please save them. I have many that I've cropped out and saved over the years. I've got quite a collection of them, and I know there are very few collections around today.
Many boards had whole libraries of c/g artwork and others had active subs where you posted your latest and greatest. I used to buffer them using ccgms, and I found at the time the best tool I had for editing was a terminal called Fritzterm. The biggest drawback to it was that it was an ascii only term, the biggest plus was that it supported ramexpansion when dealing with buffered files, and could be edited using a joystick, setting a beginning and an ending points to be saved out. I've tried other c/g editors, but many won't allow for editing unless you know exactly where you need to start. I've mentioned to a few coders over the years that it would be great to take it's editor and modify it to support c/g, as this is another potentially lost art form. I personally have many c/g movies, and even have some in 80 column as well.
Thanx,
