How do I snag a PAL C64?

Hi --
I've gotten to the point making hardware for the C64 where I'd really like a PAL C64 to test it on. It's a real pain to get one here in the states, and I was wondering if I could buy one from somebody? Or trade. But I'd rather just buy it. I live in Chicago, IL, USA.
Thanks!

I've been luck enough to find four PAL C64 on eBay.com over the past two years, all working 100%.

Yeah, yeah. Ebay. I was hoping to "keep it in the scene" as it were.

@Moloch --
You got PAL C64s from Ebay here in the states? So far I haven't seen any. Yet.

Do you just search for "PAL C64"?

Just check from wich country it's shipping. It's simple..

I gues most ones if not all from Europe will be Pal!

I think Wiki and Ebay are your friends at this one.

Actually, all of my PAL C64 setups have come from people that moved from Europe to US and sold on eBay.com

Takes a while to find these type of deals. ;)

Bidding directly with some random UKer is probably better.

I actually got one from a Uk'er a few years ago, and did the ntsc/pal conversion that was listed in Commodore world. So I've got a ntsc 64 with a pal vic/crystal, so it'll run off of a standard power supply, just won't show color without a pal capable monitor. But otherwise it works great.

Back in the day I bought a brand new 64 from a UK website. The taxes were as much as the 64!

Before Ebay existed, and people posted to comp.sys.cbm I managed to pick up a monitor and pal 128 from someone who had moved overseas to my hometown.

Haven't used them in a while (used them a ton in testing motif) but I still got them. And no they aren't for sell.
