C64 gfx to PC

Hello people,

I don't know if this question has been asked before (maybe I am blind but I could not find anything according to this topic in CSDB), but how do I view C64 graphics in Windows?

I have created a logo for a pal on a real c64, xfered it to PC, now it is on .d64. It is a Koala-Picture which I want to convert into .gif or in a format which is readable with 64view.

Anyone can help me?

I have taken WinVICE, saved a snapshot, but I couldn't load it with any tool. Which tool is needed to read .vsf files?

Arman, if it's already in Koala format, you can change it to a file name with the extension .KLA (8.3 fileformat)

64view is able to display it, although don't be suprised if it sucks compared with the result on a real c64. In ccs64 you can use pal emulation, take a snapshot in BMP (alt f2?) this probably looks better.

It's screenshot you need to take, not snapshot! ;-) Press Alt + C in VICE.

CCS64 is best for making screenshots:
Hit Alt+F1 for normal screens, Alt+F2 for interlaced pictures.
Finetune your screenshot by hitting Alt+P for Pause and move forward in single frames with N.
In Vice:
No interlaced screenshots possible, hit Alt+C and enter the filename.

Get interlaced screenshots in Vice by saving 2 (different)screenshots. Then merge them in PSP or PS with top layer at 50% opacity.

Can you skip single frames in Vice? I don't think so.
Because then you always need to save a couple of screenshots to be lucky to get the two complementing parts of the interlaced picture.
More work in any case, but you're right of course.

no single frame skipping.. one of the most annoying missing features in Vice.. I want a 'n' button!
