Vorpal Aid v4 ?
Hi,
I am looking for this... its a util that can 'copy' the GEOS on 1581. I m curious if I can make a copy on a d81 and see if it can boot on the sd2iec..
Thx

Hm, wasn't Geos released Public Domain a couple years ago, even on a d81 diskimage? I've never cared at all about Geos, but have this fact in the back of my head.
[Edit: As usual, I'm right. ;-)

yeah, i know GEOS is PD and there is one version for 1581, but the sd2iec does not support the GEOS fastloader (the sd2iec has no 'full' 1541 emualtion).
I m curious if that utility could copy the GEOS without the 'custom' fastloader...

You mean that some tool would magically remove the custom loader from GEOS so it would work with that inferior piece of hardware? |

Ah ? another hacker wasting time on sd2iec..
xc8: if you want it to work, you have to manually remove the loader from everywhere in GEOS, and install a standard KERNAL loader. end of story. |

I actually want that program for it's normal use. To link multiple ML files, some of which would normally overwrite a fastloader into to a single basic program with sysline that will load.
the geos 2.0 turbo is now supported anyway. :) |

Does it exist for sure and isn't just some relabeled Vorpal Utility Kit? |

yes it exists for sure.
people have described how to use it to snapshot geos.
it was originally distributed on qlink
https://archive.org/stream/1988_Public_Domain_QLink_Software_Gu..
it's definitely not the utility kit.
it's actually a linker and maybe compressor, with the idea that you can convert your multiple files, which might clobber your fastloader, into a onefile that won't. |
