C64 Emulator Query
Hi there,
I'm new to the c64 emulation scene, and i was wondering if there is a C64 emulator out there anywhere that will run in full screen when i click on a .prg .t64 or .d64 game ? So far, i have had no luck trying to configure any of the emulators i have downloaded to do this. :(
I like running games from my start menu without opening up the emulator first. For example, i use Zsnesw for SNES roms, GENS for Sega Genesis roms, Project 64 for N64 roms, PCE for PC Engine roms, Esms for Sega Master System roms, and NesterJ for NES roms. All these games run full screen when i click on them, as if they were a stand alone program. So far, the c64 emulator(s) are the only platform letting me down. I would be very grateful for any assistance in this matter.
Regards, Tony
Win XP Pro, Radeon 9800 Pro, SoundBlaster Audigy, Sidewinder USB pad.

Maybe the problem you are facing is that you are trying something that will never be. All of the other emulators you are listing are emulating a console, a "dummy" device that needs the rom to operate - while the c64 actually is a computer.
On the other hand this have sadly been exploited and maybe your answers can be found at www.gamebase64.com ?

http://www.lemon64.com/forum is the best place to ask emulator-scene related questions. |

Hmm.. emulator-scene, interesting word, does a C64 emulator scene in the truest sense actually exist? I don't remember hatemail being sent to emu authors because some r0m doesn't work yet, or emulator sourcecode being stolen via netbios exploit, followed by crying/begging for the author to continue :)))

If you've got access to a Mac, "Power64" is capable of running in fullscreen mode. Though I find it more useful to run in a window.

Well, "Vice" (http://viceteam.bei.t-online.de/) works in full screen too.
And "CCS64" (http://computerbrains.com).
And here my opinion:
The "CCS64" has the better emulation but is harder to configurate.
"Vice" is not so good in emulation like CCS64 but easier to configurate.
All the best!
Bye!

At one time CCS64 had superior emulation of the C64 compared to WinVice, but WinVice has now superceded it.
Audio Emulation is more accurate and Video Emulation is just as good (if not better) than CCS64 |

@xIII:Have you lost the regkey that you got when you bought the program? Contact the program vendor and tell him about your problem ...

The registration key and 10 minute limit is there for a reason. I'm with HackZOid; if you are an actual registered user, I'm sure the author would send you the registration number again; MacSOUP and ZipIt! authors have done this for me several times (over several upgrades over several computers over over over.. :D).
Please don't hinder the emulation process by pirating the emulators. Power64 is so far the best emulator I have found for the Mac, and I can finally see PAL demos in colour, properly, vs. black and white on my PAL'd NTSC machine.
