Thanks to everybody involved for the great efforts to make this issue happening.
The read was great journey! Cheers! | User Comment Submitted by Dr.j on 13 December 2020
sorry for the delayed response , but awesome work as always . very impressive for all who were involved in this amazing disk-magazine. kudos to all! | User Comment Submitted by Jazzcat on 11 December 2020
TheRYK: D81 will return when we can fit the issue on a single D81 ;) | User Comment Submitted by TheRyk on 10 December 2020
cheers for the REU supported version, though I would also have been fine with .D81 :) | User Comment Submitted by grip on 7 December 2020 User Comment Submitted by christwoballs on 7 December 2020
Superb release. First time reading a diskmag and hope it becomes a habit!
Thanks for the Rising Star Award, it means a lot to me - really wasn't expected to be embraced by this community.
Congrats to all of you for your great work! | User Comment Submitted by Trap on 5 December 2020
What a monumental release! Thank you for the REU support - the defacto standard of days to come.
Amazing content and thank you for making the first half of our story. I look forward to doing the other half with you. Also a huge thank you for the achievement award for our Expand demo. I will print a screenshot and put it on my trophy wall <3
You guys rock!!! | User Comment Submitted by FunFun on 2 December 2020
So proud to mentioned in the flotsam interview. Did not think about having influence someone. We just wanted to make cool demos. | User Comment Submitted by Flotsam on 1 December 2020
Won't dig in to this properly until next weekend, but oh boy, I can see there's a lot of stuff in there. Thanks all involved for doing this. A scene isn't a scene without a proper mag. | User Comment Submitted by KAL_123 on 29 November 2020
@Magic - for sure, have one by my own and also a Turbo Chameleon 64 and like both (also my older SD2IEC). But when someone claims, using diskmags in an emulator is a no-go, i can only smile, cause they even explain in the text-file of this musicdisk here, how to use this REU-file in an emulator. :)
By the way, the amount of text in this musicdisk is unbelievable. Good job guys. | User Comment Submitted by rail slave on 29 November 2020
Thanks for the award guys wow, I worked hard to fulfill a promise of making this year "all about art" and leveling up, finally going for that ptoing "black belt" (as if thats possible :P)
At some point I suspect I slipped into a coma and am currently dreaming that the entire planet is in mysterious unison and in a lockdown from some twitter virus, ill be back...**pinches myself** | User Comment Submitted by G-Force on 29 November 2020
A highly interesting read, especially the history of groups & sceners.
Top job. | User Comment Submitted by Magic on 29 November 2020
KAL_123: Does an Ultimate cartridge ring any bells to you? :) | User Comment Submitted by KAL_123 on 29 November 2020
Question should rather be - what self respected scener really thinks, that all users of real C64 machines have a hardware additionally, that can play REU files? :) | User Comment Submitted by chatGPZ on 29 November 2020
What self respected scener would read diskmag using an emulator though? | User Comment Submitted by KAL_123 on 29 November 2020
By the way, newest version of Denise emulator has a function, that the following disks of a multi-disk-demo or game will be found by it's own from the emulator, when they are in the same folder as the first disk (which is the case nearly all the time). This is especially good for releases like this here, with so many disks. The user only needs to map certain hotkeys for "insert disk2", "insert disk3" in the emulator one time, then save settings. Now, when a software then asks for disk2, disk3, disk4 and so on, only those mapped hotkeys must to be pressed by the user, the emulator then finds and inserts the disks automatically. No manual filling of the diskswapper necessary anymore. This improves handling alot, when a software like this here is used, which had so many disks. Using the REU-version is the alternative, should also work in Denise. | User Comment Submitted by KAL_123 on 29 November 2020
Very nice and informative diskmag. REU-version is also cool. Little bit sad, that there is no d81-version this time, because of too much data. | User Comment Submitted by Magic on 28 November 2020
@Raistlin, you are mistaken.. You were fishing, I didn't want to spoil REU support yet, and I only said it's not .crt :) | User Comment Submitted by Ghost on 28 November 2020
superb, my saturday evening is saved ;) | User Comment Submitted by JCH on 28 November 2020 User Comment Submitted by Raistlin on 28 November 2020
Great work, guys! Having a .crt version is a great idea - though Magic needs a slap for not understanding me (“we made the loading time disappear!” .. “ah, you made a .crt version?” .. “what’s a crt?” .. bah!).
Clearly the “top demo group” chart is amazing.
Really top notch stuff. My eyes hurt now. | User Comment Submitted by aNdy on 28 November 2020
Outstanding! So many disk sides, will take some ploughing through indeed! | User Comment Submitted by DRAX on 28 November 2020
Awesome 馃憤 the tune from Laxity is outstanding - and quite a good tune from Markus S 馃槈 | User Comment Submitted by JackAsser on 28 November 2020
Massive release. Well done! | User Comment Submitted by Burglar on 28 November 2020
@perplex, I totally agree, its why I said it was a really nice addition :)
oh and I'm especially digging the tunes by Mibri & Danko, very nice! | User Comment Submitted by Carrion on 28 November 2020
Lot's of reading is infront of me. I love it :)
Great idea with REU!
... and I'm sorry I wasn't able to help with some texts as Magic asked. Next time my friend :)
Thanks all who participated in creating this great diskmag.
ps. I'm gonna read Bonzai story as I want to finally know what Im married into :) | User Comment Submitted by Mibri on 28 November 2020
A colossal effort, (un)packed with so much quality content. The intro is really funny and well-executed too! | User Comment Submitted by Perplex on 28 November 2020
@burglar: yeah, we dropped the 1581 version this time as there was no way we could fit it all on one disk, and with the REU version there's already an alternative if you can't handle the disk swapping. We will bring it back in future issues provided there is space on a single disk.
As for cheating: true, it won't run on oldschool REU hardware due to the size, but we figured there are more people in the target audience with emulated hardware solutions than the real thing anyway. | User Comment Submitted by Burglar on 28 November 2020
hah, the reu version is cheating! but a really nice addition :)
I guess it doesnt fit on a single d81 anymore?
anyways, awesome edition again! | User Comment Submitted by Slator on 28 November 2020
awesome but still have soooo much text to read :D | User Comment Submitted by Logiker on 28 November 2020
I really love the REU thing to start from command line with vice. That's really comfortable! No loading times. | User Comment Submitted by Joe on 28 November 2020
Impressive on a grande scale. I take off my hat to The Sarge for his lovely work on that title screen and logo! | User Comment Submitted by Jammer on 28 November 2020
8 fuckin' disk sides?! :D Wow! :O |
