Event id #3154 : Only Sprites Compo 2022
*** Only Sprites Competition ***
Competition Rules (v1.0):
* You can ONLY display sprites - no chars or bitmaps. Magic byte(s) CAN be used.
* Change any VIC properties that you like
* Interaction IS allowed - make it a game if you like (including title, game, scores, instructions)
* Music is allowed and encouraged
* Borders can of course be removed
* No REU allowed
* Entries must be supplied as D64 or PRG and uploaded to CSDb
* Demos, Intros, Games, Diskmags, -ANYTHING- allowed ... so long as only sprites are used through the production
Winner will be chosen based on CSDB votes sometime on 7th March 2022 using a simple squared average:-
((#10votes ^ 2) * 10 + (#9votes ^ 2) * 9 + ... (#1 votes ^ 2) * 1) / (#allvotes ^ 2)
*- these rules are subject to change based on feedback up until 31st January 2022. |

We're ready to stream the Compo at BCC Party #16 and also let the voting run via Wuhu voting engine, there's an extra category. Of course nobody wants to "steal the vote", that is all based on Monte Carlos' idea and discussed and agreed on with Raistlin and me via PM.
Only question would be if there MUST be a CSDb entry before Deadline (on the one hand this would be spoiling but on the other hand this is a Standalone CSDb Compo) or if upping at BCC party site is enough. |

is stated clearly in the first post, surely that must be the way it's going to be run, right? |

I chatted with the BCC guys a few days ago and, yeah, voting will swap to BCC instead of CSDb. That’s the only change, really. IMO, to make sure the compo remains fair to all, entries should still be uploaded to CSDb first… and all entries here should be considered for the compo automatically (no need to resend to BCC). |

Sure thing, Raistlin!
No competitor should be forced to do BCC upping on her/his own as this is a Standalone compo. I can get the releases over there from here as well, it's not much extra work.
But IF(!) you want a votekey anyway, you're free to up it yourselves :)
