Voting

I have a question regarding the votes. I got a 1 vote as a cracker, maybe not that far from the truth actually but anyway... Is it possible to see who voted what? I'm just curious what crack that person have from me, that was so bad? Or is it a trick by a youngsters mind? ;)Have seen this kind of voting in other places too.

Quote: That sounds like a nice solution. The only fact you get then, is that the newer productions would take some time to get as much points as the old ones. Did i explain that well?

Earthshaker, well, i see your point, but hey, isn't all this about nostalgia anyway ?! So what's so bad about it, if people like some older demo/group more than a new one and even if it's just because it is old and retro ?! That's the reason why most of us hang around here.

Anyway, shouldn't be too difficult to find a solution for that problem aswell. Let's simply have an official cut between oldschool and newschool, 2 devided charts and the like. I did never really like that mixing of those 2 completely different scenes from back then and nowadays anyway.

Following The Arrogance here..

Sounds not bad to have a barrier between the two scenes.
But where to draw the line?
I consider myself to be something like an "oldskool-newbie" ;)
Then again,God knows how many people had already quit when I just got started in 1989.
Maybe I am only not-so-oldskool,get my drift? 8)

Today I got three new 1 votes from another "secret" voter. Bizarre... (Strontium Dog, Time Zone and Rick Dangerous).

I think that there are some idiots who are having fun here, maybe even they have some fake profiles here. Or just a childs who don't even know that there is not so easy to make cracks. All votes should be public but I think that voting here is nonseless.

i guess discussing the votes being pub or not kinda went off and obsolete along with the nice formular we had on the bottom right corner some time ago. i guess that's what can be called a 'silent agreement' (or did anyone ever come up with a final solution and state it here? =).

so, why even care about votes in the first place; it's nice that they're there, but as much as they're present, they don't work at all because of above mentioned reasons.

other than that: fish.

its really funny, 50% per cent of the voters gave me 1 point. And that anonymous. If these computer nerds at least had their guts to show who they are when they are so childish.

Quote: Indeed, too much senseless down-voting.. these charts onhere don't reflect anything, just because the whole voting-system is almost begging for manipulation done by biased people, who, for whatever reason, still seem to carry on bad vibrations about people/groups, they were in trouble with years ago.

The easiest solution: get rid of that voting-system, create a new one without that senseless proportional-average-calculation feature, just count the Votes the way it was done for so many years. If someone voted 1 point or 10 points for a person/group, than simply add it/them to the summary for that person/group. If people don't vote for you or your group, than you might not have done anything worth to remember to deserve a vote, easy as that and the problem with the "downvotes" is solved.

Whatever, someone please wake me up, are we really discussing 64 charts in the year 2005 ?! ^^

Yep, discussing charts in the year 2005, it barkles the mind, doesn't it?
