What can i say. I'm old i smoke a lot (A LOT) and i like to sit INDOORS with my buddies infront of computers and talk. What i DONT like is standing OUTSIDE in the WIND and the COLD (possibly RAINY) ocober weather in holland. Also since my back surgery last year i suffer from constant pain which makes things even worse.
So, the prospect of having to stand or sit outside in the cold october wind for the greater part of the party is not very enticing .. just because i'm a leper ... err i mean smoker (but that's pretty much the same these days innit?).
Part of the magic of X for me was that i could feel comfortable indoors with my buddies, roll one and sit infront of a c64 and light it up, time and time again.
Something that wasnt possible at all the other pussyfooting-nonsmoking-babyfriendly-bingo parties. Hence X is (was?) the only party i reliably show up to since 2006.
This seriously pisses me off, but if thats what this world has come to, so be it.
You can all flame me and jump on me all you want but that's how i feel aint nothing gonna change that. I'm not running outside every 5 minutes to burn one. No way.
"But at all the other parties you cant smoke indoors either" i hear you say. Do you see me a lot at any of those other parties ? no ? go figure. |

Well, that's one way to put it.
Another way would be, it's a party and i want to party.
Everyone drinking one beer after another is perfectly fine, someone smoking a joint after another is in dire need of a 12 step program. Your logic is flawed. |

What about smoking pure Mary Jane without tobacco then? Would that be allowed inside? ;)
Get a vaporizer and be done with it, Joe. I can't afford to miss you at an X party! |

I also prefer smoking indoors, however as it is a social event we will have to respect the preferations from non smoking visitors also. On the other hand we have had great weather during the previous editions, so let us hope for simular conditions.
Also do remember that there is a large roof on the courtyard where people can stay dry while smoking and when things get worse we will transform the entrance into a smoking area.
So I hope to meet you at X again and we have already scheduled you in the crew roster after your great help during the previous edition. |

Joe, I feel for you man! Interesting thing though, pretty much everybody is happy with the smoking ban except you (well, and me, but I folded already;)

Yes it is. Just move the picknick tables there and your set. |
