Either this German was 'wrong' in WW-II or Chotaire's entered the last meal he'll have before coming to X-2008.

From the site:
"Not to mention the composers not attending, are the ones with the biggest complaints afterwards."

Okay, that's understandable of why emailing music is not allowed this year, but it was only ONE prick who broke this rule last time - who is not even here any more (on csdb).

Could be helpful to implement some "car-sharing" page on the X2008 site for all those who need a ride of can offer one. I think that worked fine on the Oxyron Party as well.

So, I myself might charter a car along with Weasel/Hitmen, at least that's the plan for now.

- Submit your entry before the deadline

Deadlines?! on my c64?!

- We only accept demo+graphics entries in the e-mail!

Ah, finally something to stop the long and boring music compos. this will make the party more enjoyable :_)

- Your entry or part of it may not have been released before the party.

what? no ripped SIDs?

- Your entry must be completely finished.

*grins and points at resource* no more 90% releases! ;_)

Don't worry Knoeki. We'll just call the 90% version final. :-)
Releasing a 100% version at the party would break the resource tradition so we definitely won't do that :)

But we'll test the loader on real iron before the party this time... :)

Nah, you can have my bunk and get your beauty sleep, since it's against my beliefs to visit a party that exploit womens bodies for anything else than compo pictures

WTF?! Still 3 months to party and im registration number fucken #244... O_O cant remember this ever happen in the past 8 years.

How many seats? Afair ~160? Let me see whats after #160... ohoo, Drago, Jihad, Anti, TMB, Snacky aso.

I assure you, really, you dont want that kind of german bastards outside the partyhall. Unless you enjoy to provide a 24/7 nanny for this freaks... because you *know* what hardcore-EVERY-season-BBQer they are. Dont let monkeys play with fire in the woods! Hahaha. Naturally if i must stay and sleep outside i need a bonfire too...

So, you are warned now! ;-P

in x2006 there were 245 registered people. I think 60% showed up. The last
years there seems to be an inc number of people showing up. Given the number
of the last two years we could hit 70% ?

I'm fairly sure there will be a lot of good releases. I'm going to try to not show up with empty hands, anyways.

in other news: is there perhaps someone who has a spare monitor for me to use at X? would very much appreciate that.

Alright, I've uploaded the released demo's and the top 3 of the gfx and music compo.
If you don't mind, I call it a day now as I'm a bit tired :)

Also I want to thank you all for a great party!
I guess this was a important historical event for the C64 scene.
Not to mention the 180+ C64 sceners present at a party in 2008AD. Bloody Hell!

Again, thank you all! Without your presence, releases *and* scene-spirit X wouldn't be such a success!

There are some bugs in this version. HCL wants to bugfix these first.
We gave him time until next sunday. If there's no 100% version after next sunday, we will release the party-version.

Tim, CBA, Spectator, Burglar and the entire crew definitely get props for what they've organised, but I think all you party people made X2008 such a legendary event!

We did a proper job of blowing the roof off several times, seeing how hard we were partying. I loved being at X once again and I'm looking forward to the next one already. No lows, nothing but positive highlights.

Much love, MC Crap Rapper

Thanks guys, it's in fact you that make this party a success.
It's Monday and I am sort of recovered.

Some highlights...

= HCL stage diving at me during the Jeroen Tel performance.
= Jeroen Tel winning the music compo !
= Live broadcast and interviews from the party
= Soooo many SCENERS

And finally.... the beer was finished...., some .fi guys
are to blame for that :)

I found one the next day and gave it to Jeroen Tel :=)

Hi guys :).

Thanx for a splendid party. Seems like you wonder about some certain demo ;), i'll upload it really soon so don't worry. I'll leave the demo as it is, just fixing the dir and stuff.

We also saw something strange on the compo: a bug in one of the parts (!). Since i've tested the demo on a few different computers already, my theory is that the compo machine possibly has some kind of HW-bug. I'll try the demo again tonight on my c64 and c128, if i don't see any bug there i'll just forget it :).

All the other demos from the compo should be more than ehough to keep you happy for a few more days, right :). A killer demo compo it surely was :D.

Yes! This was the nicest scene party i've ever visited. While watching the democompo, we collectively felt it got more legendary with each demo shown. Guess we all got amazed there :)
What felt truly warming was seeing so many generations of sceners gathered, and actively doing things again. I truly hope we can keep this top this in 2 years.

Thanks to the organizers and all visitors - i had a great time!

I thought i'd be able to release the demo late yesterday night, but hell.. writing st0pid note text takes alot of time. At least i didn't see any bug in the part which had a bug on the compo, so the stuff that is left to do should be possible to have ready by midnight or something.. Let's hope for it :).

What a great party!

The only thing bugging me was that I had a compopic almost ready, but I didn't take the f**king thing with me since I thought I wouldn't have a working c64 at the party to finish it. I did, and I could have done it. Bleh.

Anyhow, it was great to see that the scene is indeed alive and well, and I feel I should actively do things with the c64 again.

Now what the hell was that gfx format in the Booze Designs demo? Half-char bitmap? I always hated IFLI but that HCB format didn't seem to flicker at all.

I don't seem to know a shit about the current state of c64 developments. Now where's my Amica Paint..

was suddenly reminded of this...

one thing I liked about the democompo, is that can remeber saying before the compo "I hope for some oldschool stuff like rasterbars and DYCP's"... well, plenty of that, although in a new jacket, which is cool :_)

Hehe .. 10 years ago I missed the X party, and Anonym/Padua managed to get a lot of visitors sick .. this year I missed it for only the second time since the first X, and again somebody from Germany managed to get a lot of people sick.

Coincidence? I think not .. Muhahaa!

They suffer the downside of "emulator-developing". If seen the demo on their thinkpad, massive! Then I went down with tape getting it on the real thing. And it fuxxored like hell :( Would have made it to the top 5 for sure!

Little heads-up about our X-product. We have already fixed the major problems, and got the correct tune for the demo from Barracuda :)

We are now working on adding stuff that could not be finished at that time.

I can't give you the exact date, but at least my word we are working on it!

Cheers,

As 3 months now have passed after Burglar said they have problems with Dylotics video, i have to just say: you are not really working on the problem, else it would have been fixed. sorry :) but just use 1 whole day and DO IT, it cant be much worse than that..

People are lazy, thats all...

Acryd/farbrausch has used since february 2008 to xfer the oxyron video tapes - has it been done ? NO!

Lazyness is all there is...

Now burglar will hate me for critique again... :)
Sorry, but just want to motivate you, any way i can.

I second that! I was happy finding the time to attend the party at all :) But still massive respect to those still finding time to "prioritize" producing c64-releases at all!

well if you have no time, then why not dump the raw tape to computer, and upload it in full size, so somebody else can edit it or whatever.

or just divx it as it is, and then out with it.

when 4 months has went by, it looks like it will never happen. (see oxyparty video, it wont ever happen)

A real shame, would love to see these videos, not attending the parties and all.

Prioritising can also be like:

"Should I play the Wii or the Xbox360 tonight".

Haha!

The demo is slowly progressing, expected to be released during the year 2009 :)
