You have followed an external link to vote. THIS IS NOT NICE!
I'm trying to vote for http://noname.c64.org/csdb/release/?id=38569 but I keep getting a 'You have followed an external link to vote. THIS IS NOT NICE!' message. Even if I open a new tab in Firefox, surfs to the CSDB mainpage, enters the page and tries to vote - I can't. Why's that?!
Perhaps it's not NICE voting for crap like that, but I still want to vote. |

This problem have been up before here. I'm personally not sure what the problem is, but somehow your browser dosn't tell CSDb where it came from when you vote, which is needed to avoid people making direct vote-links from other sites resulting in fake votes.
As far as I understood, your problem could either be because of a firewall thingy, or a setting in you firefox, not to send referal.
Try to search the forum for more info.
Try to read Problem with the CSDb voting system for example. |

If it doesn't work on a standard installation of Firefox, I won't bother. |

Oxidy, do you use a proxy or something else that blocks the referer header?

No proxy that I know of. I'm at work and have no insight in any firewall configuration, or anything else regarding the internet connection for that matter.
However, I can vote from home, which I've done. So that settles it for me. |

I personally never had the problem but Perff told someone it's his firewall... he disabled it "for a second" and the vote was counted... maybe your firewalls filter out some http-referer information... So check teh settings properly coz its NO GOOD to disable that csdb-"protection" since scripted votecheating would be easier then...
