Little Computer People 2011 (LCP 2011)

(Instead of potentially flooding the X thread with LCP info it is perhaps better to start a new thread...)
---------------------------------------

This is to officially announce LCP 2011!

I am currently looking for a party place which is large enough for a big C64 party. (If someone has a good idea for a party place in the Lund/Malmö area, send me a PM!) That will be the 9th or 11th LCP party, depending on whether StLCP and the BFP parties are counted as an "LCP" or not. :)

LCP is usually held the last weekend of July, but a more exact date will be reported later on. (It is usually no more than one week after or one week earlier than the last weekend of july though.)

You may have noticed that there was no LCP this year. The reasons for this were only temporary and there are no plans whatsoever of ending the LCP party series. So start working on your demos, tunes, pictures and so forth! It is only about 8 months until the deadline! :)

Considering how many more visitors LCP had last time (150+) compared to previous years (around 100), and the number of great releases, there are good reasons to believe that LCP will be the C64 party of the year in 2011! Perhaps it will continue to grow? That's up to you!

As soon as it is available, any info will be posted on the LCP site. Keep an eye on http://lcp.c64.org/ !

If it doesnt have to be in the Oresund area instead of Lund/Malmö maybe in Copenhagen? There were a great Danish Gold parties in the area

@Mason: If you know about some excellent party place which is not too expensive, I might consider it!

@PAL: Of course you and your friends should have a demo ready by then! :)

It is good to see that people are in the mood for a proper party! :)

Taper and Iopop are now officially part of the organizing team for LCP 2011, just like they were at LCP 2009. Quite possibly some more people will join in.

I love you guys for organizing LCP!! Also the organizors of X and other parties as well of course. There should be a Top10 of organizors on csdb, you're such heroes. But then, perhaps it makes no sence to be ranked as org(?), but you deserve more attention for all the work you put in the parties!

This is not a promise or a threat, but perhaps I will attend LCP-2011.

X2008 and X2010 were great, but to me the atmosphere of BFP2007 topped them both. Might have been because I slept on a concrete floor and didn't shower for 2 days. :-)

@Frantic: Is using the Milk Factory out of the question? That was a very cool partyspot I think.

@Archmage: Yes, the milk factory was really nice, but is not available since a few years back. Some company resides there now. Anyway, we'll find something nice.. :)

@Rambones: Yes, the LCP2009 place certainly got too hot, which is why I am not planning to have LCP2011 there. The place in Lund was good in many ways, but it is too small for a full scale LCP.

And pray to the weather gods ?
So where will you get power outlets from, in a tent ?

rambones: From the main venue? Mind, there have been all-tent computer events in the past, so that wouldn't exactly be impossible either...

Tents can get quite hot in the summer too. How about building a big-ass igloo?

The current plan is to build a giant ice-cream castle with blueberry/ketchup/LSD flavor, and attach it with rubber wires to a helicopter that flies around picking up sceners from everywhere. We'll see what we will go for in the end.

There are a few threads that I am currently investigating further. The quest that faces the LCP organizer warriors is not so much a matter of whether it is possible to find some place, but rather to find the best place possible.

I just wanted to bump this thread by re-confirming that there will indeed be a LCP 2011. The website will be up in the near future. Just not quite yet.

Dates: 5–7 august, 2011.
Where: Hemvärnsgården, Lund, Sweden.
Organizers: Frantic/HT, Taper/TRIAD, Iopop/TRIAD

Stay tuned...

I'm seriously thinking of planning a short holiday in Sweden around that time.
Anything to do for wife and kid in that area? :-)
