I am still waiting for an additional bill from the beer supplier. The counter is now at 4800 bottles and about 800 0.0%.

Beer ran out? There was only one X party where that happened and that even was after the compo in 2006 or 2008 iirc.
yea, only once, at X2008 we ran out of beer at 6am on sunday morning, hardly an issue :)

To change the subject...

I've heard from someone that Rob said demos were surely fake and he questioned them running on a real C64. Was it a token of appreciation via disbelief? I hope so :D Anyone has more insight on this?

I'd like to hear more details on this as well. :)
This party has clearly liberated him from the boring C64 gaming scene (*cough* L*m*ners *cough*) and he has now seen what the C64 can REALLY do. :)

btw, can someone upload the full interview on youtube? I missed the first 15 minutes due to attending Slajerek's Debugger seminar (which was also cool!)

I've heard this but the fake part was not in my version, only that he asked if this or that demo runs un a real c64

I was sitting next to Rob during the demo compo. He noticed we were running the demos from a laptop and not straight from the C64. He called it cheating as it was like a cartridge upgrading hardware, etc.

Although I tried to explain the concept behind the Ultimate products and I mentioned that every release should be working on a stock C64 + DD he was kind of sceptic. I was probably too drunk and not able to explain it clearly in the heat of the moment.

I promised to send him some yt links with more info on the subject but I have not been able to do that. Besides he left after the final compo break as he was exhausted from meeting a great number of you. I believe that talking to other people is what motivated him most.

On breakfast on sunday he said about the same to me aswell. To his belief demos should be loaded into c64 ram and executed from there with like sys49152.

He said we were streaming the demos from floppy like a movie. I tried to correct it the limited time of talk we had.
