RIP Master Kracker - NFI/INC
Just learned and wanted to pass along that Master Kracker (John Gries) has passed away. He passed on 9/9/2024. |

hmmh.... dead is dead.... (as this was some months ago we can even assume dead and buried)

whether it's RIP or RIH (rot in hell) or DINGDONG-the-witch-is-dead, I'm not to decide, I've got some CSDb Mod super powers but I'm not St Peter...
But if someone knows more info like year/date-of-birth or sth, try what you can EDIT on your own (and maybe drop some info how/why you know) or PM mods... helps database stats + might also help https://8bitlegends.com (AFAIK run by Dr. J/LSD) |

@TheRyk I hate to admit it, I was friends with him for a very long time. He lived only 25 mins away from me. I never ever saw this side of the guy, never. I wasn't sure if I should have posted the links to what happened to him. It's been tough because he was in my wedding party, my kids special events, etc. I knew his mom and brother very well (I worked with his brother for some time at GameStop). I was truly disgusted when I found out. I only found out that he passed because I was going to send him a email, it was very long, and a angry email. That's when I found out he had passed. Get in touch with me on side, I know pretty much everything except the cause of death (I have an idea, just waiting for his brother to confirm). |

I think the thread is clear, especially with the confirmation from @Psycho Stick. thank you for sharing this with us, I can only imagine the impact such news has on you and your family/friends, must be very hard ;(
for me it's hard to separate criminal behavior and scene accomplishments, but the indictments and the gravity of the conviction (30 years) say enough. disgusting. |

Yes, there's a difference between cheating stamps and sex crime. I can live with the fact that cracking and demoscene are very much intertwined and this includes some criminal activity but everything has its limits and in this case obviously the limit is broken. |
