How about having a bbs section here

I think BBS's should have a place here as they do had a lot to do with the scene and its associated history.

SHould they be added to the Seach CSDB as BBS's!

Rough, I think that that would be something to add in the comments.

well everything we think of now, can be fit in the database, so we dont have to use the comments for basic classification data...

how would you only display H/P boards, if it was only stated in the comments!?

you mean trivia.

also, bbses were hqs for multiple groups over time, much the same as a scener being member of multiple groups.

boards had 0-many known numbers over time
boards had 0-many sysops over time
boards had 0-many cosysops over time
boards had 0-many users over time
(but probably a little bit of overkill, but sysop and numbers is a must)

city or country would be nice to have in the db

theres most probably more to specify

There were many great boards in 64 history.

Wild Wares
The Forum
The Disc Shoppe

And many after that. They all do deserve their memory.

I'm off for vacation in a few days, and will first be back next weekend, but if you by then have a clear definition on what fields and relations a bbs needs, and sum it up clearly, I would be happy to start coding then.
I see you are already on the way to that. :)
(celtic is right - I know almost nothing about bbs's :( )

I guess it could basically be treated the same way as a scener. That way you can connect the board (almost as member of) certain groups for certain periods of time. If the board changed name it would be like adding a new handle to a scener. I guess the possibility to link the board to its sysop(s) would be good as well.

Quote: bbs name
- short name (example would be Garden of Eden was also routinely called GoE)

phone number(s)

sysop(s)
- co-sysop(s)

group(s)
- headquarter or support?

country? dunno if that's all that important

Also, in the previous thread some wanted to attach themselves as a user of the bbs. I don't think that is important, but maybe others do.

IP-address(es) for boards that have/had those should also be added.
