PETSCII, BBS GRAPHICS, etc.

Hey dudes!

PETSCII, Mode 1 ( http://www.kameli.net/marq/?page_id=2717 )

16 * 16 = 256 chars

PETSCII, Mode 2 ( http://www.kameli.net/marq/?page_id=2717 )

16 * 16 = 256 chars

PETSCII, Directory ( http://style64.org/dirmaster )

16 * 12 = 192 chars

So there are different Petscii modes.

What do you guys think ... would it be helpful somehow to add a credit type like "DirArt" or similar?

Any suggestions?

Waiting for a moderator to manage this thread, but setting credits for logo-graphics is not possible, so logo graphician as a function doesn't even exist irl. Charset graphician on the other hand...

Thanks Shine for posting the images! Now you got me wondering if it's lower or uppercase PETSCII used for all these mindblowing pics?

what groepaz sez, we don't have (and don't want to have) cats "Game musician"/"Trackmo musician"/"2 channel musician"/"demo coder"/"game coder"/"Tool Coder"/"Fake Musician"/"Musician camouflaged as coder"/"gfxian who once farted a tune", so the whole gfxian subcategories are superfluous.

@Digger: of course it makes little sense to use uppercase for PETSCII gfx in 99 of 100 cases :)

So, we need a 'charsetician' or 'fontician' category then.

While most PETSCII screens may use the above shown 'Mode 1', real BBS graphics are in 'Mode 2', because of the big/small letters for the text messages...

you havent seen a lot of "real" BBS gfx then - switching upper/lowercase on the fly wasnt uncommon at all. lowercase is really only a must for the "prompt" type of stuff.
