PETSCII, BBS GRAPHICS, etc.

Hey dudes!

PETSCII, Mode 1 ( http://www.kameli.net/marq/?page_id=2717 )

16 * 16 = 256 chars

PETSCII, Mode 2 ( http://www.kameli.net/marq/?page_id=2717 )

16 * 16 = 256 chars

PETSCII, Directory ( http://style64.org/dirmaster )

16 * 12 = 192 chars

So there are different Petscii modes.

What do you guys think ... would it be helpful somehow to add a credit type like "DirArt" or similar?

Any suggestions?

Quote: Waiting for a moderator to manage this thread, but setting credits for logo-graphics is not possible, so logo graphician as a function doesn't even exist irl. Charset graphician on the other hand...

So, we need a 'charsetician' or 'fontician' category then.

While most PETSCII screens may use the above shown 'Mode 1', real BBS graphics are in 'Mode 2', because of the big/small letters for the text messages...

you havent seen a lot of "real" BBS gfx then - switching upper/lowercase on the fly wasnt uncommon at all. lowercase is really only a must for the "prompt" type of stuff.

I haven't seen those modes before. Those aren't the ROM-font index-modes. Nice visualizing the graphics that way. The indices for the lines look rather comforting.

I don't recall ever seeing upper case bbs graphics, so I'm guessing you're talking about the eighties?

I've made uppercase PETSCII in the 2000's and posted it on Antidote BBS. Had to insert the "clear screen" & "switch to uppercase" character for it to work.
